We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to lead our Data Platform engineering efforts. About the Role

As the Principal DevOps Engineer at arenaflex, you will serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert and Individual Contributor responsible for spearheading our enterprise-wide DevOps transformation. You will play a critical role in defining and implementing DevOps strategies that encompass observability, scalability, availability, security, and cost-effectiveness across our data platform infrastructure.

This position demands a visionary leader who can architect robust solutions, mentor junior team members, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of our mission-critical data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

As a Principal DevOps Engineer at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with the following core responsibilities:


  • Lead DevOps Strategy Development: Architect and drive comprehensive DevOps strategy covering the design, development of tools, practices, and cultural transformation across the organization.

  • Establish Best Practices: Define and implement DevOps best practices including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment frameworks that ensure consistency and reliability.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Design and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar solutions to provision and manage resources across multi-cloud environments.

  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using platforms like Jenkins, CircleCI, or equivalent tools to ensure rapid and reliable application deployments.

  • Security and Compliance: Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure all teams adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements, particularly those governing healthcare data.

  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and processes, identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and automation to enhance release/failback consistency and accuracy.

  • Technology Innovation: Stay current with emerging data technologies, trends, and best practices, making strategic recommendations for their adoption within arenaflex's DevOps ecosystem.

  • Team Leadership: Coach and provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this Principal DevOps Engineer position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

  • Cloud Platform Expertise: Proven experience working in public cloud environments, with preferred expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and/or Microsoft Azure, and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • Containerization Technologies: Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for scalable application deployment.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating resource provisioning and configuration management.

  • CI/CD Implementation: Active involvement in CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git) with demonstrated ability to build robust deployment pipelines.

  • Programming Skills: Strong scripting abilities in languages such as Python, Bash, or similar programming languages to automate complex processes.

  • Problem-Solving Capabilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex DevOps platform issues and deliver effective solutions under pressure.
