About the Role: Data Science & Machine Learning Engineer

As a Key Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer within our Experience Innovation division, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the creation, establishment, and support of data analysis and machine learning (ML) models for our world-class attractions and visitor experiences. You will work closely with internal partners to deliver elite guest experiences through intelligent and data-driven systems across arenaflex Experiences.

This position reports directly to our Attractions Functional Innovation leadership team and offers the flexibility of remote work. You'll be empowered to explore new technologies, develop innovative solutions, and make a tangible impact on how millions of guests interact with our offerings every single day.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities as a Data Science & Machine Learning Engineer at arenaflex will be diverse, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. Here's what you can expect:

• Fostering Relationships: Build strong partnerships with colleagues across departments, providing thought leadership and demonstrating influence by driving initiatives to completion efficiently and effectively.


• Research Collaboration: Engage with research teams and colleagues to help drive ML strategies forward, identifying areas where complex business problems can be solved creatively through the application of machine learning.


• Team Leadership: Lead and collaborate with various specialists and data scientists to execute and successfully scale ML solutions that create extraordinary experiences for our visitors while pushing the boundaries of operational excellence.


• Innovation Development: Drive research and development efforts, including proofs of concept, technology innovation initiatives, and client interactions that lead to building top-tier AI platforms.


• Operational Support: Manage functional support and maintenance of ML-related products and services delivered by your team, ensuring consistent performance and reliability.


• Process Optimization: Build standard procedures used in daily operations and work with specialized units to design, plan, and execute large-scale projects in the AI/ML space.


• Model Production: Productionize ML algorithms in predictive analytics, clustering, image recognition, natural language processing (NLP), anomaly detection, and more, evaluating their performance on real-world datasets.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with different teams to achieve goals in improving system performance and coordinate with existing software practices to produce efficient code, including automated testing, continuous integration, code style consistency, and comprehensive code reviews.

What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications

We're seeking candidates who bring a unique blend of technical expertise, creativity, and passion for innovation. While we value formal education and experience, we also believe in potential and the willingness to learn and grow. Here are the essential qualifications we're looking for:

• Technical Mastery: A minimum of 2+ years of demonstrated proficiency in Python programming with experience in predictive modeling using frameworks such as TensorFlow, SparkMLib, PySpark, LightGBM, MXNet, or similar libraries.


• Cloud Platform Expertise: 2+ years of professional experience working with cloud platforms, specifically AWS (Amazon Web Services) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).


• Software Development Skills: Strong proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), quality assurance (QA) processes, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design patterns.


• Data Handling Experience: Master-level experience working with both structured and unstructured data, including images, video, text, audio, and other data formats, as well as experience with SQL, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.


• Workflow Management: 2+ years of experience with workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow or similar data workflow management platforms.


• Version Control & DevOps: Experience with version control software like GitHub and GitLab, Model Operations (MLOps), and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines.


• Business Acumen: Experience leading discovery processes with partners to identify business requirements and expected outcomes, combined with strong interpersonal skills and a determination to see tasks through to completion.


• Systems Integration: Strong systems integration and architecture skills, with the ability to translate emerging technologies into practical business solutions.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

While not required, the following skills and experiences would make you an even stronger candidate:

• Experience with Docker containerization technology


• Experience with configuration management systems


• Experience with Kubernetes orchestration


• Experience with cloud solutions in GCP or other cloud platforms


• Experience with Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence


• Experience with Agile development methodologies


• Experience with automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices


• Experience with data visualization and data monitoring tools (such as Splunk, Plotly, Tableau)


• Experience with audio analysis

Education Requirements

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field.
