About This Role

As a Provider Customer Service Call and Chat Representative at arenaflex, you'll be the vital link between healthcare providers and the support they need to deliver exceptional patient care. You'll serve as an advocate for providers, demonstrating accountability and ownership to resolve their issues efficiently and professionally. This role involves responding to questions through both phone calls and concurrent chat interactions, covering topics such as benefits and eligibility, billing and payments, clinical authorizations, explanation of benefits, and behavioral health inquiries.

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. You'll have the flexibility to work from your home office within Tennessee, embracing our telecommuting culture while contributing to our mission of transforming healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

As a Provider Customer Service Representative, you will:


  • Serve as the provider advocate by demonstrating accountability and ownership to resolve issues completely and satisfactorily

  • Multi-channel service delivery including inbound phone calls and concurrent chat support to address provider needs

  • Quickly and appropriately triage contacts from healthcare professionals including physician offices, clinics, and billing offices

  • Understand and identify provider needs by actively listening and seeking to comprehend their unique challenges

  • Resolve questions and issues related to benefits and eligibility, billing and payments, clinical authorizations, explanation of benefits, and behavioral health

  • Research and analyze complex prior authorization and claim issues, taking appropriate corrective action to prevent repeat contacts

  • Minimize escalations and provider dissatisfaction by addressing root causes and ensuring thorough issue resolution

  • Collaborate effectively with multiple internal partners to ensure comprehensive issue resolution and timely communication to providers

  • Master multi-tasking across systems by navigating more than 30 different systems to extract information needed for issue resolution

  • Work across multiple lines of business including C&S, M&R, and E&I, handling various provider types and call scenarios

  • Promote self-service digital tools by educating providers on navigation questions and demonstrating the benefits of digital solutions for faster issue resolution

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications


  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience with demonstrated ability to analyze and solve customer concerns

  • Proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, including ability to navigate and learn new complex computer system applications

  • Typing speed of 35-40 WPM with 90% accuracy

  • Ability to work any full-time (40 hours/week), 8-hour shift between 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM CST, Monday through Friday

  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime, weekends, and/or holidays based on business need

  • Residency within the state of Tennessee

  • Ability to maintain a dedicated work area that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

  • Access to a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or existing high-speed internet service

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in a related environment such as office, call center, or customer service using phones and computers as primary job tools

  • Prior healthcare industry experience and familiarity with healthcare terminology

  • Knowledge of benefits administration, claims processing, or provider relations

  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems or practice management software

  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and unexpected challenges

Training and Development

We believe in investing in our people from day one. Arenaflex offers 12 weeks of comprehensive paid training to ensure you have the knowledge and skills to succeed in this role. During training, your hours will be 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM CST, Monday through Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home, allowing you to learn in a comfortable environment while still receiving the support and guidance you need.
