Ford Motor Company is seeking a passionate and detailed engineer to join their team as a Manufacturing Process Engineer at their Lima Engine Plant. This role focuses on developing and implementing manufacturing systems for crankshafts and related components, ensuring efficiency and quality in production processes.


Responsibilities

  • Support development and implementation of Crankshafts and related Round Parts manufacturing systems for new powertrain programs in Ohio
  • Utilize machining process knowledge, particularly steel and iron metal cutting and grinding to deliver an efficient and optimized process regarding quality, costs, timing, and footprint
  • Support equipment installation, power on, run capability, and equipment handover to the powertrain plants
  • Initiate bids, evaluate, recap bids for equipment purchase; work with Purchasing to write and place orders
  • Work with OEMs, suppliers, Product, and Plant engineering teams to resolve engineering and program delivery issues
  • Interface and coordinate project related items such as facilities, safety, ergonomics, material handling & kitting, tooling, and gauging
  • Support discrete event simulation for constraint analysis; work with Industrial Engineers (IE) to assess and improve throughput
  • Travel up to 50% in support of assigned projects in collaboration with OEMs, Tooling, Gauging, and related equipment suppliers

Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 1+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of GD&T; reading engineering drawings
  • Strong communication skills along with the ability to work in a cross functional team
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to handle complex projects with multiple objectives
  • Familiarity of Lean Manufacturing Principles and Six Sigma
  • Proven record of customer focused work
