Mineral Rights Acquisition/Underwriting Mentor-Part-Time | Flexible Hours
Posted 2026-05-06We are a new mineral acquisition company, looking for an experienced Oil & Gas Mineral and Royalty Rights Underwriter / Acquisition mentor. This is a part-time Mentor role with fully flexible hours, including weekends. There is no minimum number of hours required per week. This role can be performed without leaving your current job
The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on knowledge of mineral and royalty acquisitions, strong underwriting skills, and a proven ability to evaluate opportunities, structure deals, and guide others through the identifying, acquisition and underwriting process. Your knowledge will play an important role in helping our team understand industry practices, compliance requirements, and sound acquisition strategies.
- Key areas of expertise required:
- Creating Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) models to evaluate return on investment and rate of return
- Performing Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) for wells and fields to estimate future cash flows
- Analyzing both conventional and unconventional wells
- Evaluating pricing and profitability of wells to support acquisition decisions
- Lease negotiation and mineral owner research
- Deal structuring, phone-based communication, and acquisition documentation
- Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in identifying, underwriting and acquiring Oil and Gas mineral and royalty rights
- Strong phone communication, negotiation, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and use reliable data sources
- Experience with platforms such as Enverus, Drillinginfo, Energy Domain, or similar industry tools
- Strong understanding of mineral and royalty acquisition processes
- Compensation:
- Based on experience. Starting pay is $80 per hour
