The Role: Principal DevOps Engineer
As a Principal DevOps Engineer at arenaflex, you will serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert and Individual Contributor responsible for driving organizational transformation in DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our enterprise-wide DevOps strategy, ensuring the adoption of best practices that enhance scalability, availability, security, and cost efficiency.
This position offers the unique opportunity to work on complex clinical data challenges while contributing to strategic initiatives that have a direct impact on patient care and organizational success. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, compliance, and development teams, to ensure the highest standards of quality and performance in our technology ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead DevOps Strategy Development: Design and execute comprehensive DevOps strategies covering the planning, development of tools, practices, and cultural transformation across the organization.
- Establish Best Practices: Define and enforce DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment strategies that ensure consistency and reliability.
- Infrastructure as Code: Architect and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar platforms to provision and manage resources across multi-cloud environments.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or equivalent solutions to ensure rapid and reliable application deployment.
- Security and Compliance Collaboration: Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of data protection.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and processes, identifying areas for improvement, innovation, and automation to enhance release/failback consistency and accuracy.
- Technology Innovation: Stay current with emerging data technologies, trends, and best practices, making recommendations for their adoption within the organization's DevOps ecosystem.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Coach and provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong foundation in cloud computing, infrastructure automation, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Cloud Environment Expertise: Hands-on experience working with public cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS), along with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Infrastructure as Code Proficiency: Strong capability in infrastructure as code concepts and tools, including Terraform and Ansible, for automating resource provisioning and deployment.
- CI/CD Pipeline Experience: Active involvement in CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI, as well as version control systems like Git.
- Programming Skills: Strong scripting abilities in languages such as Python, Bash, or similar programming languages.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to analyze complex DevOps platform issues and provide effective, practical solutions.
- Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be highly valued in a candidate:
- Monitoring and Logging Tools: Experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Cloud Logging to ensure optimal application performance and system health.
- Security Best Practices: Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps, including vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices.
- Leadership Experience: Prior leadership experience, including mentoring and coaching junior engineers, is a significant plus.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Compensation and Benefits
