Your Role

We are hiring a mid-to-senior Product Manager to own the overall WHMCS product roadmap and the release cadence — the rhythm at which tens of thousands of merchants and hosting providers rely on us to ship. You will lead the Lead PM for WHMCS: accountable for roadmap coherence across the WHMCS PM team and shaping the plan in partnership with the three other WHMCS PMs and with me – Carlos Rego, VP of Product, Commerce.

The Lead PM designation is a product-leadership and peer-coordination role, not a people-management line. In line with the WebPros PM-to-squad model, you will will also be the product lead for one dedicated engineering squad, partnering with the engineering team lead on delivery (engineers report to an Engineering Manager, not the PM). Commerce and billing expertise is essential — WHMCS is mission-critical billing infrastructure for the web hosting industry, and the product lives and dies by it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the WHMCS product roadmap end-to-end, defining it in partnership with the other WHMCS PMs and the VP of Product (Commerce), so the product evolves coherently and with clear strategic intent.

  • Own the release cadence — scoping, sequencing, readiness reviews, release notes, and post-release adoption tracking — so customers can rely on a predictable shipping rhythm and high quality.

  • Lead one dedicated engineering squad as its product lead, partnering with the engineering team lead and Agile coach on backlog, planning, and delivery.

  • Drive commerce and billing decisions across pricing, invoicing, taxation, payment gateways, subscriptions, dunning, and refunds, so WHMCS stays best-in-class for the merchants who depend on it.

  • Run customer discovery — interviews, support-signal analysis, beta programs — and translate insight into crisp PRDs and user stories, so we build the right things for the right reasons.

  • Coordinate across the WHMCS PM team as Lead PM, keeping the roadmap coherent across squads without acting as a people manager of the peer PMs.

  • Partner with stakeholders across engineering, design, support, marketing, partnerships, and compliance, so the product moves in lockstep with the business and the broader hosting ecosystem.

  • Define and monitor success metrics (adoption, retention, revenue, quality), running experiments where appropriate, so we learn in the open and course-correct quickly.

Qualifications — Must-haves

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of a revenue-generating B2B or B2B2C product.

  • Demonstrable experience in commerce and billing — subscription billing, invoicing, payment gateways, taxation, dunning, refunds, or similar.

  • Proven track record of owning a roadmap and driving a predictable release cadence in a software product.

  • Experience acting as the senior product voice across multiple squads or peer PMs, defining a coherent roadmap without formal people-management authority.

  • Strong written and verbal English — able to write crisp PRDs, release notes, and stakeholder updates.

Qualifications — Nice-to-haves

  • Direct experience with WHMCS — as a user, admin, module developer, or PM.

  • Background in the web hosting, domains, or SaaS infrastructure industries (cPanel, Plesk, registrars, CDNs, VPS / cloud providers, etc.).

  • Experience with extensible platforms, marketplaces, or plugin / module ecosystems.

  • Exposure to PCI-DSS, SCA / PSD2, regional tax (VAT / GST / IVA), or related compliance topics.

  • Technical literacy — comfort reading API docs, discussing schema changes, or sketching integrations.

Your Impact in the First 120 Days

30 Days — Learn & Integrate

  • Complete WebPros onboarding; get hands-on with WHMCS as a product and a codebase.

  • Meet the other three WHMCS PMs, the dedicated engineering squad and its team lead, the Agile coach, and key stakeholders across support, marketing, and partnerships.

  • Understand the in-flight roadmap and current release cadence; shadow an active release end-to-end.

60 Days — Contribute & Collaborate

  • Take ownership of one in-flight initiative in the dedicated squad and run it end-to-end.

  • Contribute meaningfully to cross-PM roadmap conversations; begin shaping the next quarter's plan.

  • Run first release readiness review; start refining backlog hygiene with the engineering team lead.

90 Days — Take Ownership

  • Own the next release cycle for the squad end-to-end, with a visible quality and adoption bar.

  • Lead a discovery effort on one commerce / billing initiative and convert it into a funded roadmap item.

  • Deliver first measurable adoption or quality metrics from a change shipped.

120 Days — Drive Growth

  • Own the WHMCS product roadmap and release cadence end-to-end, with clear cross-PM alignment.

  • Identify and advocate for the next set of strategic bets for WHMCS, grounded in customer and market signal.

  • Act as Lead PM across the team — supporting peer PMs on commerce / billing topics and roadmap coherence.

You will Thrive Here If You…

  • Enjoy owning a roadmap end-to-end and holding themselves accountable to shipping predictably.

  • Are energized by complex commerce and billing domains — pricing, invoicing, taxation, dunning, and edge cases.

  • Can be the senior product voice in a room of peers and influence without formal authority.

  • Take initiative in a remote, async-first environment and manage their own time well.

  • Care deeply about the end-user experience and lean on customer signal to prioritize.

  • Enjoy operating across engineering, design, support, marketing, and executive stakeholders.

You will Struggle Here If You…

  • Prefer deep specialization in a narrow area over broad, cross-squad roadmap ownership.

  • Need top-down direction to prioritize and are uncomfortable making trade-offs in ambiguity.

  • Find it hard to influence peers without a formal management title.

  • Are uncomfortable in regulated or compliance-adjacent territory (PCI, tax, data protection).

  • Find async-first, globally distributed work isolating, or need daily in-person collaboration.

  • Prefer rigid, top-down planning structures over iterative, evidence-driven road mapping.
