Position Overview
As a Quality Control Standards Data Analyst Intern at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in driving our culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation. You'll work closely with our Quality Control Strategies and Standards team to identify statistical trends and performance metrics that will help improve our operations. This internship offers real-world experience in data analysis, process improvement, and business recommendation development.
You'll be embedded in our Corporate Headquarters in Dallas, TX, working alongside industry professionals who are committed to mentoring the next generation of talent. This 12-week internship runs from May 21 to August 9, 2024, and requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. While we offer workplace flexibility for approximately half of the time, interns are expected to be on-site for team-related events and collaborative projects.
Key Responsibilities
As an integral member of our Quality Control team, you will be responsible for:
- Data Collection and Validation: Perform and assist the Quality Control team in optimal data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on various data elements. You'll ensure data accuracy and integrity while identifying patterns and anomalies that could impact operational performance.
- Analysis and Reporting: Assist with creating and delivering results from complex data analysis for both technical and non-technical clients and leaders. Your ability to translate complex data into actionable insights will be crucial in helping stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Support investigating critical ad hoc requests arising from emerging operational issues. You'll provide analytical responses that enable senior leadership to make informed business decisions while balancing existing project responsibilities.
- Data Visualization: Present insights, trends, and potential recommendations using data visualization tools. You'll support relevant aspects of the investigation to facilitate partner understanding and drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.
- Query Development: Assist with developing and distributing specific queries to pull and coordinate data from various sources. You'll establish rhythms and validate the necessity of data requirements to ensure efficient information flow.
- Process Audits: Identify process irregularities through comprehensive reviews and audits. You'll communicate findings to the team and recommend improvements that enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Performance Monitoring: Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and procedures by monitoring for trends and deviations. Your analytical eye will help identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with established standards.
- Compliance Focus: Ensure that a compliance-minded approach is at the center of every decision, supporting our commitment to maintaining the highest operational standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program, preferably in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Expected graduation date should be after August 2024 (this internship is designed for students still completing their degrees)
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Analytical Abilities: Proven ability to collect, organize, and analyze large amounts of information with strong attention to detail and accuracy. You should be comfortable working with complex datasets and extracting meaningful insights.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship, capstone project, or research experience in a related field
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or QuickBase
- Experience creating PowerPoint presentations for professional communications
- Coursework in statistical analysis, database management, or business intelligence
