Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist to join our Centralized Services team in a remote capacity. This position is based in Portland, USA, and offers competitive compensation along with the flexibility of working from home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing medical service methodologies and driving patient health outcomes while ensuring compliance with clinical pharmacy services.

As a Remote Pharmacist in Centralized Services, you will be responsible for executing against established pharmacy programs, driving pharmacy financial performance through optimization of reimbursements while improving patient health outcomes, and fostering strong relationships with clinical communities. You will serve as an expert resource and contact for the organization, providing guidance and support to other pharmacists and field leaders.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the arenaflex Centralized Services team, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:


  • Direct Patient Care Programs: Execute direct patient care programs, including but not limited to Drug Therapy Management programs, Vaccination Services, and Payer and Pharma Adherence and Clinical Projects. Drive the execution of various policies and operations to ensure business needs are being met while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Drive compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care and services by researching, evaluating, and redesigning processes; monitoring and analyzing results; and implementing necessary changes. Ensure that all pharmacies in the assigned region comply with regulatory compliance, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines.
  • Financial Performance: Drive regional pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies with company financial goals. Implement and execute patient intervention pharmacy programs to maximize financial performance while ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Patient Experience Enhancement: Support efforts on improving patient experience by increasing focus on healthcare services, including patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and retail, clinical, or health services such as vaccinations, illness state management, and Specialty programs.
  • Team Support and Development: Provide expertise, resources, education, and support to pharmacists and field leadership. Support staff training experiences and advancement opportunities. Promote collaboration and inspire pharmacy staff by fostering a shared vision and supporting company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Prescription Processing: Conduct data and clinical reviews and take necessary actions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medications. Review drug histories and patient profiles to ensure proper and safe medication therapy. Provide individualized patient/provider consultation.
  • Patient Communication: Through use of superior interpersonal skills, win the trust of patients by listening to their concerns and providing a sounding board for pharmacy concerns. Demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism in every patient interaction.
  • Program Evaluation: Provide feedback regarding the effectiveness of the Client Retention Program, including comments from patients as the value of individual consultations. Use this feedback to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Clinical Consultation: Responsible for all inquiries, discussions, and advice that relate directly to patient treatment. Provide clinical advice and information to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations. Comply with company policies and procedures, including all HIPAA regulations and guidelines. Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy industry developments and maintain required licensure.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other work consistent with the job duties as assigned by management.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or related pharmaceutical sciences field is required. Candidates with advanced degrees (PharmD) are preferred and will be given special consideration.
  • Licensure: Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority is required. Candidates must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Oregon (Portland location). Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed in multiple states or who are willing to obtain additional state pharmacy licenses if necessary.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is required. Experience inspiring colleagues to research and resolve issues is preferred. Experience working with confidential information is essential.
  • Availability: Able to work non-standard hours, which may include nights, holidays, and/or weekends, as business needs require. This position may require flexibility in scheduling to support coverage across different time zones.
  • Technical Skills: Strong time management skills, such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of various projects with varying completion dates. Experience developing approaches to achieving goals with minimal supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives, and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
  • Customer Service: Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Travel: Able to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state) as needed for training, meetings, or special projects.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:


  • Willingness to acquire other state pharmacy licenses if necessary to support business operations across multiple regions.
  • Knowledge of insurance plans and billing procedures, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
  • Knowledge of PC operating systems including Radio, Commitment, and Plus pharmacy management systems.
  • Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a line, selecting font and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, adjusting text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: inserting, editing, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, expanding list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing frame view and/or running a slide show).
  • Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and adjusting text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and paragraph width, formatting, inserting shots, pictures and dates, using find and replace, fix, spell check, track changes, review sheet and/or print capabilities).
  • Previous experience with medication therapy management (MTM) programs and clinical pharmacy services.
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy operations and disease state management programs.
