Position Overview: Senior Analytics Engineer
We're seeking a talented and experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to join our growing Healthcare Analytics team. In this role, you'll collaborate with internal IT information design and analytics groups to implement and maintain data infrastructure conditions that enable sophisticated reporting automation for our Healthcare Quality Improvement program. Your work will directly contribute to data and insight commercialization efforts that drive better patient care across the arenaflex Health ecosystem.
As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, you'll work alongside a cross-functional team of data experts, BI engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver performance insights that matter. What You'll Do
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, your responsibilities will span the full data lifecycle—from collection and processing to analysis and delivery. You'll be instrumental in driving data and insight initiatives that power arenaflex Health's reporting and decision-making capabilities. Here's what you can expect:
- Lead Data Delivery Initiatives: Direct the delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights-driven projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate data availability for all stakeholders.
- Support Data Operations: Handle both long-term and ad-hoc data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data warehousing activities to meet arenaflex Health reporting and analytics requirements.
- Build Data Infrastructure: Design, develop, and deploy layered databases and data pipelines that support reporting and analytics projects across the organization.
- Create Data Models: Develop data structuring and preprocessing standards for populating logical and physical data models tied to report-specific working tables, supporting both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.
- Implement ETL Best Practices: Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal arenaflex production system sources and third-party files.
- Perform Data Analysis: Conduct data profiling and analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS records.
- Automate Processes: Create internal tools for automation of all development-related activities including data processing, QA, data validation, and more.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work effectively with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
- SQL Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts with the ability to optimize complex queries for performance.
- Data Platform Experience: Experience planning and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
- BI Tool Proficiency: Experience providing thought leadership and presenting tool-agnostic semantic data layer improvements related to BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, internal stakeholders, clients, and vendor partners.
- Business Acumen: Minimum of 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect management, or cross-functional team leadership experience.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes, including both intra-state and inter-state travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Data Management Certification: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent data management certification.
- Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts, including understanding of healthcare data standards and regulations.
- Advanced Analytics Experience: Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning integration, or advanced statistical modeling in healthcare settings.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy requirements.
