What You'll Do

As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in designing and implementing our next-generation event-driven data infrastructure. You'll work alongside talented engineers, data scientists, and product managers to build systems that are scalable, reliable, and performant. This isn't your typical data engineering role – you'll be solving complex problems at scale, working with petabytes of data and processing millions of events per second.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and Build Event-Driven Data Pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain scalable event-driven data pipelines on AWS using services like Amazon EventBridge, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions. You'll create systems that react to events in real-time, enabling instant responses and actions across our platform.


• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and business teams to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. You'll serve as the bridge between business needs and technical implementation.


• Ensure Data Quality and Monitoring: Implement robust data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reliability. You'll build dashboards and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and resolve data issues.


• Optimize Performance and Cost: Continuously optimize data pipelines for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You'll conduct performance tuning, implement caching strategies, and leverage AWS cost optimization techniques.


• Stay Current with Technology: Remain at the forefront of AWS innovations and data engineering best practices. You'll evaluate new services, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve our data infrastructure.


• Develop Personalization Algorithms: Create and implement personalization algorithms using Python and Pydantic models. You'll build systems that deliver tailored experiences to each customer based on their preferences, behavior, and history.


• Build and Maintain NoSQL Databases: Design, build, and maintain DynamoDB tables and other NoSQL databases. You'll implement efficient data models, partitioning strategies, and query optimizations.


• Work with Streaming Data: Utilize Amazon Kinesis to collect, process, and analyze streaming data in real-time. You'll build streaming applications that can handle high-throughput data processing.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Expertise: Deep understanding of AWS native event-driven services, including EventBridge, Lambda, Step Functions, and serverless technologies.


• Data Engineering Skills: Strong knowledge of data modeling, data quality, and data security best practices. Experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, and data lakes.


• Programming Proficiency: Strong Python skills with experience in building production-quality code. Familiarity with Pydantic for data validation and modeling.


• Database Experience: Hands-on experience with DynamoDB and other NoSQL databases. Understanding of NoSQL data modeling, indexing, and query optimization.


• Stream Processing: Experience with Amazon Kinesis for real-time data streaming and processing. Knowledge of stream processing patterns and architectures.


• Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues quickly.


• Personalization Experience: Experience building personalization, recommendation, or machine learning pipelines is a significant advantage.
