About the Role

As a Key Data Researcher in our organization, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the creation, establishment, and support of data analysis and machine learning (ML) models for our world-class attractions. You will work closely with internal partners to deliver elite visitor experiences through intelligent and data-driven systems across arenaflex Experiences (AX). This position reports directly to Attractions Functional Innovation and offers unparalleled exposure to cutting-edge technology in the entertainment sector.

What You'll Do

Your journey at arenaflex will be filled with challenging and rewarding responsibilities that include:

• Building Strong Relationships: Foster and develop associations with colleagues, providing thought leadership and exerting influence by driving initiatives to completion effectively and efficiently.


• Collaborative Innovation: Engage with research teams and colleagues to help drive ML strategies and identify areas where business problems can be tackled creatively by applying machine learning solutions.


• Team Leadership: Lead and work with various specialists and data researchers to execute and successfully scale ML solutions that create magical experiences for our visitors while pushing the boundaries of operational goals.


• Research & Development: Drive innovative development work, proofs of concept, technology initiatives, and client interactions that lead to building top-tier AI platforms.


• Operational Excellence: Manage functional support and maintenance of ML-related products and services delivered by the team.


• Process Optimization: Build standard procedures used in everyday operations and work with specialized units to design, plan, and execute large-scale projects in the AI space.


• Algorithm Productionization: Productionize ML algorithms in predictive analytics, clustering, image recognition, NLP, anomaly detection, and more, evaluating their performance on real-world datasets.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with different teams to achieve goals in improving system performance while coordinating with existing software practices that generate effective code, including automated testing, continuous integration, code style consistency, and code reviews.

Required Qualifications & Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need to bring the following expertise to our team:

• Technical Mastery: 2+ years of demonstrated proficiency in Python with predictive modeling experiences using frameworks such as TensorFlow, SparkMLib, PyTorch, LightGBM, MXNet, or similar advanced libraries.


• Cloud Expertise: 2+ years of expert-level experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).


• Software Development: Strong proficiency in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), QA processes, and Object-Oriented Programming Design Patterns.


• Data Management: Expert-level experience with both structured and unstructured data (including images, video, text, audio, and other formats) as well as SQL relational and NoSQL databases.


• Data Workflow: 2+ years of experience with Airflow or another data workflow management tool.


• Version Control & MLOps: Hands-on experience with version control software such as GitHub and GitLab, Model Operations, and CI/CD pipelines.


• Business Acumen: Experience in driving discovery processes with partners to identify business requirements and expected outcomes, combined with strong interpersonal skills and a determination to see tasks through to completion.


• System Integration: Strong systems integration and architecture skills, capable of transforming new technology into business solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and experiences would make you an even stronger candidate:

• Experience with Docker containerization technology


• Experience with configuration management systems


• Experience with Kubernetes orchestration


• Experience with cloud solutions in GCP or other cloud platforms


• Experience with Atlassian Tools such as Jira and Confluence


• Experience with Agile development methodologies


• Experience with automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment


• Experience with data visualization and data monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Plotly, Tableau)


• Experience with audio analysis


• Experience with text analysis and natural language processing

Education Requirements

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical background.


• Preferred: Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical background.
