Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Information Specialist II to work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions for information utilization within our organization. This role is ideal for a Splunk expert who thrives on solving complex problems and wants to make a tangible impact on how our organization leverages data.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality content for our Splunk environment, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability. You will serve as a subject matter expert in Splunk administration and development, guiding teams on best practices and helping to advance our data analytics capabilities.

What You'll Do

As an Information Specialist II at arenaflex, your responsibilities will include:


  • Design and develop high-quality Splunk content including dashboards, reports, alerts, and data models that are optimized for performance, reliability, and usability across the enterprise

  • Resolve complex Splunk issues utilizing your deep expertise in advanced searching, dashboarding, and troubleshooting techniques to ensure seamless operations

  • Implement integrations with external applications and systems as needed, ensuring seamless data flow between Splunk and other enterprise platforms

  • Advise and educate our user community on Splunk search best practices, alert configuration, and dashboard optimization to maximize the value of our data analytics investment

  • Handle daily operational and user support tasks, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly and users receive the assistance they need

  • Perform data parsing, classification, and enrichment to improve data quality and make information more accessible and meaningful

  • Create and manage knowledge objects including field extractions, tags, event types, saved searches, workflow actions, aliases, and macros to enhance search capabilities

  • Organize summary-based reports and accelerate data models for improved query performance and faster insight generation

  • Work from home as part of our flexible work arrangement policy, collaborating with team members across different locations

What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you should have:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing advanced Splunk dashboards and searches in a production environment

  • Strong scripting skills with experience in Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages

  • Proficiency in Splunk's Basic XML framework and application architecture

  • Expert knowledge of regular expressions for data parsing and field extraction

  • Experience driving insights with data and Splunk products to support business objectives

  • Ability to create intuitive dashboards using Splunk Dashboard Studio

  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and version control systems like Git

  • Basic web design knowledge to support dashboard customization and user interface improvements

  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with application teams and drive innovative solutions for corporate data collection to enterprise logging platforms

  • Ability to handle complex Splunk infrastructure issues using knowledge of automation, scripting, Ansible, AWS, REST APIs, and Splunk Enterprise

  • Experience developing, testing, and deploying multiple Splunk configurations and technology add-ons

  • Ownership and leadership in Splunk infrastructure and data management best practices, including data onboarding processes

  • Ability to assist in creating advanced dashboards, reports, alerts, and other data objects in Splunk to drive value across the organization
