Software Engineer, Backend

Robinhood is a company focused on democratizing finance for all, and they are seeking a Software Engineer to join their Core Financial Products Engineering team. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining backend infrastructure critical to their financial products, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and release backend systems with high correctness, reliability, and scalability requirements
• Own and maintain key services that power our financial product ecosystem
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering and business challenges
• Interface with external financial institutions to integrate services and expand capabilities
• Contribute to shaping engineering best practices and improving developer workflows

Skills

• 6 Months - 2 Years of Hands-on software engineering experience through previous roles
• Proficiency with Python/Django or Go (or similar backend technologies)
• Solid understanding of relational databases and transaction-safe design
• Curiosity and interest in financial systems or a strong desire to learn
• Strong computer science fundamentals and a problem-solving mindset
