The Payroll Specialist / Sr. Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company policies. This role supports the company by handling payroll-related queries and maintaining payroll records with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy. This position is eligible for remote work.
Preference will be given to candidates located in FL, GA, AL, NC, SC.

What you’ll do
Responsible for the reconciliation of payroll on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy while maintaining compliance while working in a remote environment.
Accurately and efficiently monitor employee time records and PTO, make edits and amendments as necessary, according to the Company’s weekly pay schedule.
Partner with Corporate on the processing of payroll and resolving discrepancies.
Maintain payroll records and systems.
Answer questions via internal ticketing system
Primary point of contact internally and externally on payroll-related issues
Coordinate with HR regarding new hires, terminations, and salary changes
Follows established departmental processes.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, labor regulations, and company policies
Support internal and external payroll audits
Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
High school diploma or equivalent in accounting or other related field, or
equivalent work experience.
Familiarity with a construction environment/unit pay/production pay.
Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll. 3-4 years preferred.
Successful working alone in a remote environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
Familiarity with Google-based applications such as G-mail, Google docs and
sheets.
Proficient use of Internet software and databases.
Preferred Qualifications
Payroll certification (e.g., CPP, CIPP, or equivalent)
Experience using WFS, RTASQ, and SAP (Success Factors).
Experience working in a multi-company, multi-state, high-volume payroll
environment
Knowledge of prevailing wage and project allocations.
