Position Overview


We are looking for a skilled Data Analyst to join our Analytics & Business Insights team at arenaflex. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our accounting and contracting departments to identify, analyze, and segregate variances resulting from over/under payment practices. You will play a critical role in incorporating these findings into our actual-to-expected financial results, ensuring accuracy and transparency across our operations.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who enjoys diving into data, identifying trends, and presenting findings in a way that drives strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities



  • Data Visualization Development: Aid in the development and implementation of cutting-edge data visualization techniques to ensure information is conveyed in meaningful and interpretive formats suitable for all audience levels, from executive leadership to operational teams.

  • Analytical Methodology: Contribute to the development and execution of innovative analytical and statistical methodologies, as well as supporting tools, for evaluating company processes, business issues, and return on investment for products and services.

  • Variance Analysis: Collaborate with accounting teams and contracting departments to identify and isolate fluctuations resulting from over/under payment practices, incorporating these findings into actual-to-expected financial results and providing detailed insights to leadership.

  • Data Integrity Management: Assist in the development and maintenance of automated processes to identify data and process integrity issues. Furnish leadership with detailed recommendations for issue resolution, identifying both upstream and downstream impacts of identified issues and effectively communicating with all affected parties.

  • Objective Analysis: Aid in the development of timely, innovative, objective analysis that leads to fact-based solutions for key business issues. Identify, understand, and drive issue definition and hypothesis reporting as it relates to the specific business environment. Coordinate externally sourced data with internal expertise.

  • Reporting and Presentations: Prepare standard and ad-hoc management reports and presentations for projects. Utilize query-based tools to create and run queries used for data mining and analysis to support other work responsibilities and special projects.

  • Compliance Monitoring: Perform specific tasks identified in the compliance monitoring system, including evaluation of definitions, cost increase maintenance, and organization identification.

  • Client Service: Provide exceptional client service to both internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and conducting customer satisfaction assessments.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with peers in Sales, Finance, Legal, Contract Development, and Contract Operations to ensure alignment and drive business success.

Essential Qualifications



  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems. A Master's degree is preferred but not required.

  • Collaboration Experience: Demonstrated experience collaborating with internal and external resources to aid in the development of procedures and project plans that meet division objectives within budget and established timelines.

  • Relationship Building: Proven experience establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with internal (peers, colleagues, and leadership) and external (business community, customers, and vendors) stakeholders within a matrix organization to ensure quality service standards.

  • Independent Problem-Solving: Experience developing approaches to achieving goals with minimal oversight, depending on oneself to resolve issues to ensure completed objectives, and knowing when to escalate issues appropriately.

  • Time Management: Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize/coordinate and track details and meet deadlines for multiple projects with varying completion dates.

  • Complex Problem Resolution: Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems effectively.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel functions such as using VLOOKUP, combining and centering cells, printing centered pages, and creating pivot tables.

  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint Skills: Proficiency in advanced PowerPoint features such as changing picture styles, editing animations, and setting automatic slide timings.

  • Advanced Microsoft Word Skills: Proficiency in advanced Word features such as adding developer tabs, creating macros, formatting table styles, inserting comments, and creating mail merges.

  • Travel Availability: Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes, both within state and out of state.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Advanced degree (Master's or higher) in a related field.

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.

  • Knowledge of advanced coding languages such as SAS, SQL, C++, or similar programming languages.

  • Experience with pricing systems such as Ariba, Vendavo, Vistaar, Salesforce.com, SharePoint, Wikis, or similar platforms.

  • Experience with business intelligence tools to support data analysis, including Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, Ariba, or similar solutions.

  • Experience with group teaching, coaching, and training staff members.

  • Knowledge of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Benefit Manager, Benefit Consultancy, or Managed Care operations.

  • Experience working with pharmacy data at a retail pharmacy, Pharmacy Benefit Manager, benefit consultancy, or Managed Care organization.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry pricing structures and methodologies.

  • Experience with project management, including planning, coordinating, and managing resources to achieve successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.

  • Familiarity with systems such as Cure and GIS.

  • Experience with data extraction, data mining, data acquisition, data profiling, and data warehouse management.

  • Experience in a data warehouse/business intelligence/decision support systems environment or IT experience.

  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and data mining techniques.

Compensation and Benefits
