Position Overview

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Systems Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the foundational systems that enable our AI models to operate securely, efficiently, and at scale. You will work closely with other engineers and researchers to implement robust infrastructure solutions that support our ongoing research initiatives and product development.

This position is based in our San Francisco, California office. We offer a flexible hybrid work model, requiring team members to be in the office three days per week. For new employees relocating to the Bay Area, we provide comprehensive migration assistance to help you transition smoothly.

What You'll Do

As a Systems Software Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our AI infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

• Infrastructure Design and Development: Design, build, and maintain robust systems infrastructure that supports our AI models and research initiatives. You will create scalable solutions that can handle increasing computational demands while maintaining reliability and performance.


• Performance Optimization: Continuously improve system efficiency through optimization of resource allocation, networking, and storage solutions. You will identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance speed and throughput across our distributed computing environments.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with researchers, engineers, and product teams to integrate your infrastructure work into our broader systems architecture. You will provide technical guidance and support to help teams achieve their research and development goals.


• System Reliability and Monitoring: Investigate and resolve any issues that arise in our production and development environments. You will implement monitoring solutions and establish best practices to ensure our systems remain stable, reliable, and available.


• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive documentation for your systems and processes. Share knowledge with team members through documentation, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.


• Programming Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python, C/C++, or other relevant programming languages. You should be comfortable writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.


• Systems Programming Experience: Hands-on experience with systems programming, with a focus on virtualization, containerization, and sandboxing technologies. Understanding of operating system internals and kernel-level programming is highly valued.
