Position Overview
arenaflex is currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Enterprise Data Storage Administrator to join our corporate IT team at our headquarters in Oklahoma City. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay of $24 per hour, with standard work hours of 8 hours per day. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in enterprise data storage operations and engineering, with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms and technologies.
As the Enterprise Data Storage Administrator at arenaflex, you will be recognized as the subject matter expert in all matters related to enterprise data storage operations and engineering. You will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining our extensive data storage environments, ensuring the integrity and security of data backups, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing ongoing recommendations and best practices to enhance our storage infrastructure.
This role encompasses various storage technologies, including Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Networks (SAN), and Direct Attached Storage (DAS) environments, along with any other technologies designated as storage technology within our organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of enterprise storage concepts, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
As an integral part of our IT department, the Enterprise Data Storage Administrator will be responsible for the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Enterprise Storage Expertise: Demonstrate an extensive and comprehensive understanding of enterprise data storage environments, including the underlying architecture, protocols, and best practices for optimal performance and reliability.
- Backup and Data Security: Implement and maintain enterprise backup and data security technologies to ensure business continuity and protect critical organizational data from loss or unauthorized access.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Efficiently manage and monitor reporting platforms and storage management software to identify potential issues, optimize performance, and generate insightful reports for stakeholders.
- Capacity Planning: Define and implement strategic capacity planning methodologies based on industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure scalability and future-proofing of our storage infrastructure.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface and communicate effectively with application, database, server, and other technology teams on architecture and configuration selections to ensure appropriate storage technology implementation and optimal configuration.

- Documentation: Create clear and concise documentation for both routine daily tasks and irregular operations, ensuring knowledge transfer and compliance with organizational standards.

- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor storage system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize latency.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with storage vendors and OEMs to evaluate new technologies, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely resolution of hardware and software issues.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in data storage or a related field, with emphasis on networking and storage protocols.
- SAN Expertise: Must possess industry knowledge and hands-on experience in large-scale SAN design and implementation, demonstrating proficiency in planning, deploying, and managing complex storage area networks.
- OEM Experience: Proven experience in enterprise storage environments, with expertise in Dell EMC, Cisco, and similar Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) solutions.
- Data Protection: Solid understanding of current and advanced data protection technologies, including backup solutions, replication, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
- NAS Knowledge: Experience with NAS concepts and protocols, including Common Internet File System (CIFS), Network File System (NFS), and Amazon S3.
- Data Synchronization: Knowledge of data synchronization technologies for both SAN and NAS environments, ensuring data consistency and availability across multiple storage platforms.
- Operating System Infrastructure: Strong operating system infrastructure skills, with proficiency in both Linux and Windows environments.
- Virtualization: Familiarity with VMware concepts and networking, including virtual storage configurations and management.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent combinations of training, work experience, and education will also be considered.
