Marketing and Client Experience Director

We at Legacy Tree Genealogists love helping people all over the world (in over 100 countries!) discover their heritage. We get up in the morning and do things like tell a client her birth father’s name, connect cousins in China, and share documentation that an ancestor used an alias and actually fathered two families – at the same time, in two different countries. We invite you to apply for the position of Marketing and Client Experience Director at Legacy Tree. This position reports directly to the CEO as part of our company operations team, and directs our marketing, sales, and project management teams.
About You
You will be a great fit if:
- You are passionate about serving clients and team members.
- You have at least five years of management experience in a leadership or operations role.
- You have at least three years of hands-on digital marketing experience.
- You have hands-on experience developing affiliate marketing relationships and a knack for identifying undiscovered sales channels.
- You have strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills.
- You are solution-oriented when it comes to problems and can tackle them in creative ways.
- You enjoy getting things done and possess the detail-oriented, self-starting mindset required to thrive in a remote team.
- You are comfortable with software and continue learning as new tools become available.
- You are familiar with the resources, methodologies, and nuances of genealogy research, or are excited by the idea of getting familiar with them!
- You have a quiet place to work without distractions.
What you’ll be doing at Legacy Tree:
- You’ll understand and improve the client experience from their first interaction with Legacy Tree to the completion of our time with them.
- You’ll supervise team managers, helping them grow the company, resolve issues, and hire and fire as needed.
- You’ll direct marketing strategies, monitor campaign costs, and ensure marketing effectiveness and optimal return on ad spend.
- You’ll monitor sales, reorders, and lead conversion rates; adjust international pricing as needed; and oversee key initiatives.
- You’ll occasionally work directly with clients so you can intimately understand sales and project management processes.
- You’ll be an integral part of our director team, helping to set policy, make company decisions, and manage budgets.
- You’ll run and attend meetings and will hold others accountable for tasks and deadlines.
- You’ll travel about 1-3 times per year to contribute to company sales events and retreats.
- With your input, you’ll lead other strategic initiatives as opportunities and needs arise.

- This position is 100% remote with the exception of required attendance and help at marketing events and company/leadership retreats.
- This position is full-time (40 hours per week) with a somewhat flexible schedule. Directors need to be available during regular business hours to answer questions from team members and others.

- The Marketing and Client Experience Director participates in the company QIP bonus program and receives commissions.
