As a Bilingual Customer Service Representative, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our reputation for excellence while handling inbound inquiries related to customs clearance, duties, taxes, and financing matters.
What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our Ground Services team, you will be responsible for addressing all inbound client requests from FTNC and various arenaflex OPCOs concerning customs clearance inquiries. Your role requires you to provide comprehensive information about duties, taxes, and financing charges in strict accordance with US Border Administration Office (CBSA) guidelines. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in international trade regulations and customs procedures.
Client Communication & Inquiry Resolution
- Answer incoming calls from both Canadian and U.S. clients regarding their FTNC-FXG clearance receipts and route them to the appropriate FTNC department or arenaflex OPCO for resolution
- Investigate questions regarding FTNC clearances for FXG imports into Canada and provide clients with effective solutions
- Handle inquiries from other OPCOs and ensure seamless communication across all departments
- Support arenaflex Express Customer Care Agents with questions related to FXG shipments in customs clearance delays or FTNC clearance receipts that clients have received via mail
Payment Processing
- Process MasterCard payments from clients for their FTNC-FXG clearance inquiries, ensuring all payments are authorized and not declined
- Accurately log payments against receipts in the FTNC accounting system
- Liaise directly with clients in the event of payment processing issues such as incorrect credit card numbers, wrong expiry dates, or declined payments
- Investigate and address any issues related to credit payments received, liaising with FTNC Accounts Receivable Department to resolve problems
- Assist the billing department in preparing credit notes for FTNC inquiries requiring problem resolution
Administrative Support
- Sort and distribute Low Value Shipment (LVS) documents for mailing purposes
- Prepare FTNC invoices to send to clients as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager
What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Skills
Essential Requirements
- Education: High School Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
- Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, and basic office equipment (fax machine, scanners, printers)
- System Experience: Familiarity with IBM AS 400 mainframe application system is a plus
