What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience Excellence


  • Warm and Welcoming Interactions: Greet every customer and patient with genuine friendliness, offering assistance with products and services. Your smile and positive attitude will set the tone for their entire shopping experience.

  • Issue Resolution: Address customer concerns and questions promptly and professionally, working to resolve any issues to ensure complete satisfaction. Your goal is to turn every interaction into a delightful experience that keeps customers returning.

  • Service Standards: Model and share customer service best practices with team members, demonstrating arenaflex service traits such as proactively offering help, identifying customer needs, and servicing until fully satisfied.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Maintain excellent interpersonal habits including proper greeting, eye contact, and courtesy at all times.

Pharmacy Operations


  • Register Operations: Register sales on assigned cash registers, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service. Handle cash transactions accurately, collecting payment and distributing change as requested.

  • Transaction Processing: Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Maintain accuracy in all transactions to ensure customer trust and satisfaction.

  • Product Recommendations: Recommend items for sale to customers, suggesting trade-up and companion items that may enhance their purchase. Guide customers to the OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products.

  • Merchandising: Keep counters and shelves clean, well-merchandised, and organized. Take regular inventory and maintain accurate records. Check in and price merchandise as required or as directed by management.

  • Prescription Processing: In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions accurately.

  • Pharmacy Systems: Utilize pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information correctly. Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.

  • Workflow Support: Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, ensuring efficient pharmacy operations throughout your shift.

  • Error Reporting: Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.

  • Quality Compliance: Review and comply with the arenaflex Pharmacy Code of Conduct and strictly adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies during all prescription dispensing activities.

  • Telephone Handling: Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including inquiries to physicians, with professionalism and efficiency.

  • Claims Processing: Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, performing other clerical duties as assigned.

  • Inventory Management: Assist and support the Pharmacy Department in inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals. Maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving prescription drugs.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.

  • Display Management: Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and revisions as directed.

  • Product Placement: Assist with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies and procedures, such as storing raw and frozen meats on bottom shelves. For consumable items, assist in stock rotation using the first in, first out method and manage restock outs.

  • Store Systems: Demonstrate working knowledge of store systems and equipment to provide efficient service.

  • Photo Area Support: Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster printing, and creative machine operations. Suggestively sell promotional photo products.

  • Web Pick-up: Assume web pick-up responsibilities by monitoring orders, filling orders, and delivering orders to customers as they arrive at the store.

  • Store Maintenance: Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, and orderly store condition and appearance.

  • Policy Compliance: Comply with all company policies and procedures while maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers.

  • Special Assignments: Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned by management.

Training & Personal Development


  • Certification Maintenance: Earn and maintain PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification through the designated training program and/or state-required certification/registration.

  • Continuous Learning: Attend training and complete required learning modules requested by management or assigned by corporate. Acquire continuing education credits to maintain knowledge and skills in healthcare and pharmacy, including the latest news and developments in the field.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications

Basic Qualifications


  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)

  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Preferred Qualifications


  • Six months of experience in a retail environment, demonstrating customer service skills and adaptability

  • Prior work experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting

  • Strong math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications

  • Proficient computer skills for operating pharmacy systems and processing transactions

  • Knowledge of store inventory control procedures and best practices

  • PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification or willingness to obtain certification

  • Previous experience with electronic health records and pharmacy management software

  • Understanding of insurance claims processing and third-party billing
