What You'll Do
As a Data Engineer, IT Analytics at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure. You'll work closely with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement, and support analytics solutions that provide insights for better decision-making across the organization.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing data migration and data engineering solutions using cloud products and services, including Cloud Data Lake Storage, Cloud Data Factory, Cloud Functions, Event Hub, Stream Analytics, Databricks, and other modern data platforms
- Working with traditional data warehouse tools and cloud-native solutions to create robust data pipelines
- Performing various aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, cloud engineering (infrastructure, networking, security, and governance), ingestion, deployment, data modeling, testing, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, solutions, usage, BI, alerting, and support
- Providing technical leadership while collaborating effectively within team environments and working independently when needed
- Being part of a DevOps team that fully owns and supports their product from development through production
- Implementing batch and streaming data pipelines using cutting-edge cloud technologies
- Driving improvement of coding standards, best practices, and security and compliance guidelines
- Coaching others on technical and domain skills to create cross-functional teams
- Translating business requirements into technical specifications and ensuring data solutions align with organizational goals
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge sharing initiatives
What You'll Need for Success
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- 3+ years of programming solution development using Agile, DevOps, working in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
- 3+ years of data analysis experience using SQL
- 2+ years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Cloud) including EventHub, Data Factory, Databricks, DevOps, Blob Storage, Data Lake, Power Applications, and Power BI
- Combination of Development, Operations, and Support experience in several of the following tools/platforms:
- Scripting: Python, Scala, Unix, SQL
- Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake
- Cloud Technologies: Cloud Data Factory, Cloud Databricks, Cloud Blob Storage, Cloud Data Lake, Cloud Power Applications, Cloud Functions
- CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Cloud DevOps, Terraform
- BI Investigation Tools: Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, Grafana
- Data Warehousing: DataStage, Informatica
- Data Governance and Security: Informatica Axon and EDC, BigID
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of programming solution development using Agile, DevOps, product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
- 5+ years of data analysis experience using SQL
- 3+ years of full-stack development experience, preferably in Cloud environments
- 3+ years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Cloud) including EventHub, Data Factory, Functions, ADX, ASA, Databricks, DevOps, Blob Storage, Data Lake, Power Applications, and Power BI
- Industry experience in our sector is a plus
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
- Expertise with Cloud Technology stack for data management, data ingestion, capture, processing, curation, and creating usage layers
- Expertise in providing functional direction within Cloud Native cloud services
- Cloud Development Track Certification (preferred)
- Scala Accreditation (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
