Position Overview

We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to join our Clinical Trials business unit as the Director of Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCT). In this pivotal leadership role, you will serve as a key driver in developing and executing decentralized and hybrid clinical trial solutions that enhance efficiency, improve patient experience, and deliver high-quality research outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing decentralized clinical trials, a deep understanding of the drug and device development process, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams through all phases of study development, operationalization, and delivery. Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Decentralized Clinical Trials at arenaflex, you will be responsible for the successful development and execution of clinical trials. Your leadership will ensure that all studies are completed on time, within budget, in full compliance with regulatory requirements, and of exceptional quality. You will oversee cross-functional review teams throughout all stages of study development, from initial planning through final delivery.

Working closely with the Head of Decentralized Clinical Trials, you will contribute to strategic planning, resource allocation, and the overall operational success of our decentralized and hybrid trial programs. Your expertise will be instrumental in building and managing relationships with decentralized trial vendors, including the development of comprehensive business requirements and effective management of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes.

Your responsibilities will also include overseeing cross-functional colleagues in the development of critical study documents and plans, such as clinical trial protocols, Informed Consent Forms (ICF), Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP), Data Management Plans (DMP), and Safety Plan development. You will be responsible for recruiting, training, mentoring, and coaching DCT team members while collaborating with Product and Technology leadership to ensure that essential client features are launched on time and meet client needs.

Additional key responsibilities include providing oversight for the conduct of remote clinical trial visits, site initiations, and study closeouts with client representatives. You will actively participate in business development efforts, including proposal and budget development as well as bid defense processes. Your contributions will also extend to developing and maintaining appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), plans, and policies related to DCTs. Furthermore, you will provide input to the technical team for expanding capabilities to support evolving client needs.

Core Competencies Required


  • Previous experience or CRO experience developing and driving DCT projects, including budget and scope development

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience managing DCT vendors

  • Comprehensive understanding of the drug and device development process, including decentralized and hybrid trials

  • Strong working knowledge of ICH GCP, US CFR, and HIPAA regulations

  • Familiarity with the skills and ability to apply new systems to daily tasks

  • Understanding of the importance of adaptability and enthusiasm for learning and adapting to technological changes over time

  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead internal and external teams

  • Capacity to work independently and make appropriate strategic decisions to operationalize and advance clinical trial initiatives

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail

  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and resources, meet deadlines, and remain flexible to changing needs

  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace

  • Minimum 2 years of direct leadership, indirect management, or cross-functional team leadership experience

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes, both within state and out of state

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree in a related field preferred

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical trial management with direct involvement in decentralized or hybrid trial methodologies

  • Industry Background: Prior experience in Contract Research Organization (CRO) settings or pharmaceutical company clinical operations

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in ICH GCP (International Council for Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice), US CFR (Code of Federal Regulations), and HIPAA compliance

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in clinical trial management systems, electronic data capture (EDC) platforms, and remote monitoring technologies

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships

Preferred Qualifications


  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Healthcare Administration

  • Experience with real-world evidence (RWE) studies and pragmatic trial designs

  • Knowledge of patient recruitment strategies for decentralized trials

  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and wearable technology integration in clinical research

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Experience in budget development and financial oversight for clinical trials
