Position Overview

As a Senior Big Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining our enterprise data infrastructure. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions that power our analytics capabilities. Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for:

Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand, define, and capture commercial enterprise needs, ensuring that our data solutions align with strategic objectives

Expanding our Voice of the Customer (VoC) methodologies and leveraging these insights to transform data within our cornerstone big data platform, enabling deeper customer understanding

Designing and building robust data model architectures that support optimal data processing and standardized metric definitions across the organization

Developing big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions using transformational technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and Python to deliver innovative solutions

Ensuring data quality and accuracy through intensive testing at variable and use-case levels, maintaining the highest standards of data integrity

Providing technical guidance to enhance capabilities that drive efficiency in computing programs within our massive data ecosystem

Leading consumer tale analysis and elaboration, including design and development of software programs, exploration, and automation tool builds

Proactively identifying and automating manual tasks to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce operational overhead

Working closely with partners from cross-functional teams to prioritize, define, develop, and test data solutions for various use cases as part of our end-to-end Voice of the Customer program

Mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge sharing within the organization

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, and Shell Scripting languages

Proven experience with development, launch management, and troubleshooting for data-driven projects

Strong track record of collaborating effectively with relationship managers and product owners to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical deliverables

Familiarity with Agile methodologies of delivery, with experience introducing small increments of products at regular intervals to business groups

Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently in a remote environment

Strong communication skills to effectively translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following would be advantageous:

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Knowledge of real-time streaming technologies like Kafka or Flink

Background in financial services or payments industry

Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks
