Position Overview: Data Engineer

This role involves working with vast amounts of data, communicating with multiple technology systems that enable essential business and technology functions.

As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our organization's operations. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust database applications, implement effective testing strategies, and create observability solutions that enable rapid identification of root causes in time-sensitive processes. Key Responsibilities

• Database Development & Management: Design, develop, deploy, and operate (relational) database applications across development, testing, and production environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.


• Testing & Quality Assurance: Create effective and comprehensive test cases that integrate seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring robust code quality and minimizing production issues.


• Observability Solutions: Develop and implement observability capabilities into solutions to enable critical identification of root causes for failures in time-sensitive processes.


• Scalability & Performance: Demonstrate 2+ years of experience in scalability with SQL, optimizing queries, and ensuring database performance meets business requirements.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside talented engineers in open, supportive environments, contributing to team goals and sharing knowledge across the organization.


• Technology Innovation: Explore and implement modern technologies and approaches to solve challenging problems, while contributing to the broader engineering community.


• Regulatory Compliance: Support the development of technology solutions that ensure compliance with financial regulatory expectations across global markets.


• Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database designs, processes, and best practices to ensure knowledge transfer and team efficiency.

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.


• Technical Expertise: Proven ability in the development, deployment, and operations of relational database programs across development, testing, and production environments.


• Testing Experience: Proven experience in developing effective test cases integrated into CI/CD pipelines.


• Observability Skills: 2-3 years of experience in developing observability abilities into solutions for critical failure identification in time-sensitive processes.


• SQL Proficiency: 2+ years of experience in scalability with SQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.


• Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate with multiple technology systems and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud Platform Experience: Exposure to Public Cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure is highly desirable.
