Position Overview

We are looking for a Data Science Intern to join our dynamic analytics team. In this role, you will apply a wide variety of database applications and analytical tools, including SQL, Google Cloud BigQuery, and Python, to solve complex business challenges. You will utilize strategic thinking and perform data analysis for various business issues and opportunities, creating excellent analytical solutions that drive business growth.

This is a remote position based in Georgia, USA, offering flexibility while maintaining connection with our innovative team culture. Key Responsibilities

• Data Analysis (60%): Apply a wide variety of database applications and analytical tools, including SQL, Google Cloud BigQuery and Python to extract, clean, and analyze large datasets. Utilize strategic thinking and perform data analysis for various business issues and opportunities. Create high-quality analysis solutions that provide actionable insights for senior leadership.


• Business Collaboration (20%): Participate in meetings across the enterprise data science community, gaining exposure to cross-functional specialty units. Build networking relationships and receive tutoring from colleagues and senior management. Collaborate with teams across departments including e-commerce, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.


• Communicating Results (20%): Deliver findings and project status clearly and professionally through presentations. Provide recommendations to upper management. Provide comprehensive report-outs to senior leaders on projects and other related initiatives. Translate complex technical findings into business-friendly language.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university
• Strong academic performance with a demonstrated commitment to excellence
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
• Interest in learning and developing skills in data analysis and business intelligence
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Graduate degree in a quantitative field (Analysis, Finance, Information Systems, etc.)
• Working knowledge of SQL and database querying
• Experience with modern scripting languages (preferably Python)
• Experience running queries against data (preferably with Google BigQuery or SQL)
• Experience with data visualization software (preferably Tableau)
• Knowledge of statistics, predictive modeling, and other data science techniques
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies
• Previous experience in data analysis or related academic projects
