Position Overview: Healthcare Service Advocate
Are you passionate about helping others navigate their healthcare journey? Do you thrive in environments where you can make a real difference in people's lives? If so, arenaflex invites you to join our team as a Healthcare Service Advocate in our Healthy Results Group. This is a remarkable opportunity to work from the comfort of your home while contributing to meaningful health outcomes for Medicare members across the nation.
As a Healthcare Service Advocate, you will serve as a vital link between our Medicare members and the healthcare system. Your mission will be to engage with members through multiple channels—phone, digital platforms, and written communications—to encourage and motivate healthy behaviors. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that every member has a clear understanding of their Medicare benefits, particularly regarding important screenings, medications, and preventive health services.
This position offers you the chance to apply your communication skills, healthcare knowledge, and compassion to help close gaps in care. You will be responsible for inbound and outbound calls to members who may benefit from specific healthcare services, including preventive screenings, vaccinations, and medication refills. By actively listening to members' concerns and barriers, you will provide solutions that facilitate better health outcomes and improve their overall experience with the healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities
- Member Engagement: Conduct inbound and outbound telephone outreach to Medicare members to inform them about available health benefits, preventive services, and wellness programs that can improve their quality of life.
- Barrier Identification: Effectively capture and document barriers that prevent members from receiving necessary healthcare services. Use motivational interviewing techniques to provide solutions and close gaps in care.
- Care Coordination: Serve as a liaison between members, health plans, physicians, and pharmacies to ensure seamless coordination of care. Assist members in understanding their treatment options and connecting with appropriate healthcare resources.
- Healthcare Education: Provide members with accurate, timely information to help them make better decisions about their health and medical care. Explain complex healthcare concepts in simple, understandable terms.
- Quality Documentation: Utilize CRM tools to accurately record member information, interactions, and outcomes. Support clinical record documentation for HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) quality measures.
- Issue Resolution: Act as a single point of contact for member inquiries and concerns. Resolve issues efficiently and escalate complex matters to leadership when necessary.
- Relationship Building: Build trusting relationships with members by taking ownership of their concerns and demonstrating genuine empathy for their unique situations.
- Program Support: Guide members through various health programs, tools, and resources available through arenaflex to support positive healthcare behaviors and outcomes.
- Performance Excellence: Handle multiple functions and products while maintaining or exceeding performance standards. Meet individual, team, and business objectives.
- Professional Representation: Present a positive image of arenaflex in all interactions, demonstrating professionalism and commitment to member satisfaction.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred in healthcare, nursing, public health, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a healthcare setting with direct communication with members, patients, or consumers. Prior experience in call center environments is highly preferred.
- Healthcare Knowledge: Experience working with HEDIS screening measures and understanding of quality improvement initiatives in healthcare.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Windows-based applications and standard corporate software packages. Strong computer literacy is essential for this role.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clinical providers, staff, and members.
- Critical Thinking: Strong analytical abilities with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
- Adaptability: Capacity to thrive in a changing environment, adapt to different priorities, and embrace new information and procedures quickly.
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, make effective decisions, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities (strongly preferred)
