About the Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the creation, implementation, and support of data analysis and machine learning models that power our world-class visitor experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional internal partners to deliver exceptional guest interactions through intelligent and data-driven systems across our Experience Division.

What You Will Do

As an integral member of our technology team, you will be responsible for fostering and developing relationships with colleagues while providing thought leadership and driving impact through initiatives that are executed effectively and efficiently. Your daily responsibilities will encompass a wide range of exciting challenges, including:

• Lead ML Initiatives: Engage with research teams and colleagues to drive machine learning strategies forward, identifying areas where complex business problems can be solved creatively through the application of advanced ML techniques.


• Collaborate with Experts: Lead and work alongside diverse teams of engineers and data scientists to implement and successfully scale ML solutions that create unforgettable experiences for our visitors while pushing the boundaries of operational excellence.


• Drive Innovation: Spearhead research and development efforts, proof-of-concept initiatives, technology innovation projects, and client interactions that result in the development of top-tier AI platforms.


• Ensure Operational Excellence: Manage functional support and maintenance of ML-related products and services delivered by your team, ensuring seamless performance and continuous improvement.


• Establish Best Practices: Build standard procedures used in daily operations and work with specialized units to design, plan, and execute large-scale projects in the AI and machine learning space.


• Productionize ML Solutions: Deploy machine learning algorithms in predictive analytics, clustering, image recognition, natural language processing (NLP), anomaly detection, and other advanced applications, evaluating their performance on real-world datasets.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with different teams to achieve goals in improving system performance and reliability.


• Maintain Code Quality: Coordinate with existing software practices to produce maintainable code, including automated testing, continuous integration, code style consistency, and comprehensive code reviews.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you must possess a strong technical background and demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

• Programming Expertise: A minimum of 2+ years of demonstrated mastery in Python programming with experience in predictive modeling using industry-standard frameworks such as TensorFlow, SparkMLib, PySpark, LightGBM, MXNet, or similar libraries.


• Cloud Platform Experience: 2+ years of expert-level experience working with major cloud platforms, specifically AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or GCP (Google Cloud Platform).


• Software Development Proficiency: Strong familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), QA processes, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design patterns.


• Data Management Skills: Expert-level experience working with both structured and unstructured data sources, including images, video, text, audio, and other data formats, as well as proficiency with SQL, relational databases, and NoSQL database systems.


• Data Workflow Management: 2+ years of experience with workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow or similar data pipeline orchestration platforms.


• Version Control and DevOps: Hands-on experience with version control systems like GitHub and GitLab, Model Operations (MLOps), and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines.


• Business Acumen: Experience leading discovery processes with partners to identify business requirements and define expected outcomes, combined with strong interpersonal skills and a determination to see projects through to completion.


• Technical Architecture: Solid systems integration and architecture skills, with the ability to translate emerging technologies into practical business solutions.


• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following additional skills and experiences will be given special consideration:

• Experience with containerization technologies, particularly Docker


• Experience with configuration management tools


• Experience with container orchestration platforms, especially Kubernetes


• Advanced cloud solution experience in GCP or other major cloud platforms


• Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence


• Experience with Agile development methodologies


• Knowledge of automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices


• Experience with data visualization and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Plotly, Tableau)


• Experience with audio analysis and audio signal processing


• Experience with text analysis and natural language processing


• Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Data Science, Statistics, Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
