Position Overview

The Model Risk Management Group (MRMG) within the Global Risk and Compliance Group at arenaflex is responsible for the independent risk management of all models across the enterprise. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Model Risk Management Professional to join our team, focusing specifically on cutting-edge Generative AI (Large Language Models) and Machine Learning initiatives.

This role will be instrumental in elevating model excellence, strengthening long-term shareholder value, and adapting to the changing landscape of both model development innovation, external environment, and heightened regulatory expectations. What Will You Make an Impact in This Role?

As a Model Risk Management Professional at arenaflex, you will be responsible for managing and controlling model risk, specifically related to cutting-edge Generative AI (Large Language Models). Key Responsibilities

Independent Oversight: Direct independent oversight of enterprise-wide models with a focused emphasis on Generative AI (Large Language Models) and AI-based models for marketing, credit, fraud, or other business/risk types

Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive gap assessments and establish robust frameworks to strengthen model risk controls and meet elevated regulatory standards

AI/ML Research: Conduct AI/ML research to explore opportunities to elevate model excellence and drive measurable business impact

Stakeholder Communication: Deliver results and findings to partners, senior management, and various model governance councils

Model Validation: Challenge the applied effectiveness, theory, methodology, purpose, and uses of predictive models to ensure they meet the highest standards

Business Value Optimization: Maximize business returns by organizing effective and accurate models that drive tangible outcomes

Innovation Leadership: Advance modeling techniques and variable creation to keep arenaflex at the cutting edge of model development

Process Enhancement: Ensure modeling accuracy and improve modeling efficiency in existing processes using machine learning approaches

Essential Qualifications

Strong background in quantitative analysis, statistics, mathematics, or related field

Proven experience in model risk management, model validation, or similar analytical roles

In-depth knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Machine Learning concepts

Understanding of regulatory requirements and expectations related to model risk management

Experience with AI/ML model development, deployment, and governance

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices and integrity in all work

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field

Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in credit, fraud, or marketing analytics

Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as Basel, OCC, or other banking regulations

Familiarity with cloud-based AI platforms and model deployment frameworks

Experience with model governance frameworks and best practices

Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar analytical languages

Certification in risk management or AI/ML related fields
