What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you'll play a vital role in our pharmacy operations while delivering exceptional customer experiences. Here's what your daily work will entail:

Patient Care & Customer Experience

• Engage warmly with customers and patients by greeting them professionally and providing knowledgeable assistance with products and services


• Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively, ensuring every interaction leaves a positive impression


• Model excellent customer service habits, including interpersonal skills like eye contact, courtesy, and active listening


• Develop strong, lasting relationships with our most valuable customers and patients


• Guide customers to over-the-counter products when appropriate, helping them find exactly what they need

Pharmacy Operations

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, strictly adhering to state, federal, and company policies


• Utilize advanced pharmacy systems to accurately enter patient and drug information


• Process prescriptions by retrieving, counting, pouring, and verifying medications with meticulous attention to detail


• Check medications for accuracy and potential interactions before dispensing


• Support the pharmacist in maintaining efficient workflow and scheduling


• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and follow all error documentation procedures


• Adhere to all "good faith dispensing" policies as required by law

Technical & Administrative Tasks

• Operate pharmacy cash registers, accurately registering all related income and handling cash transactions


• Process and resubmit third-party prescription claims efficiently and accurately


• Handle telephone calls that don't require the pharmacist's personal attention, including physician inquiries


• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing prescription drug shipments


• Document claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods related to prescriptions


• Maintain knowledge of company asset protection procedures

Healthcare Services & Community Relations

• Assist pharmacists in administering medical services, including collecting and properly labeling blood/urine samples from patients


• Support pharmacy staff in coordinating medical services, including arenaflex healthcare clinics and external vendors


• Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers


• Participate in medical provider outreach to health agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other community forums


• Support both indoor and outdoor maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is adequately stocked, clean, and organized

Qualifications We're Looking For

Basic Requirements

• Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)


• Legal Eligibility: Must have or be able to obtain required certifications per state regulations


• Commitment to Learning: Willingness to complete the PTCB certification program within required timeframes


• Customer Focus: Genuine desire to help patients and create memorable experiences


• Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow procedures accurately and catch potential errors

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail Experience: Six months or more of experience in a retail environment


• Industry Knowledge: Previous work experience in pharmacy or healthcare settings


• Mathematical Skills: Strong math abilities for accurately counting, measuring, and weighing medications


• Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with computer systems and pharmacy software


• Inventory Management: Understanding of store inventory control processes


• Certification: Existing PTCB certification is a significant plus
