The Role: Ramp Agent – Ground Operations

As a Ramp Agent at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in our ground operations team. Your contributions will directly impact the safety, efficiency, and overall customer experience at our facilities. This is a physically demanding yet incredibly rewarding position that offers variety, challenges, and opportunities for advancement.

Our Ramp Agents work in all weather conditions, managing aircraft movements on the ground, handling baggage and cargo, and ensuring that every flight departs and arrives safely and on time. Key Responsibilities

As a Ramp Agent, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that keep our operations running smoothly. Your daily duties will include:


  • Customer Service Excellence: Provide friendly, helpful support to all internal and external customers, maintaining positive relationships and ensuring every interaction leaves a lasting positive impression.

  • Baggage Handling: Receive, record, and process customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Aircraft Loading and Unloading: Handle all aspects of loading, stowing, and unloading baggage, freight, airmail, aircraft cargo, and company materials according to predetermined plans received from Operations Specialists.

  • Cargo Management: Receive, deliver, and transport freight and baggage to and from aircraft, maintaining detailed records of all activities.

  • Freight Processing: Warehouse, weigh, stack, receive, and deliver air freight while checking handled cargo against accompanying documentation to identify and correct any discrepancies or errors.

  • Cargo Security: Protect customers' baggage, air freight, airmail, and company materials from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction.

  • Jetway Operations: Regularly use jetway stairs to transport checked items from the terminal to the aircraft hold.

  • Documentation Review: Review freight documentation for accuracy and make necessary corrections to ensure compliance with all regulations and procedures.

  • Aircraft Cleaning: Perform manual cleaning of aircraft interiors, including sweeping upholstery, cleaning windows, galleys, and disposal containers according to established guidelines.

  • Sanitation Services: Clean and service lavatories, operate lavatory service trucks, and dispose of contents according to established procedures.

  • Provisioning Support: May perform duties of a Provisioning Specialist, including loading aircraft cabin interiors with equipment and supplies such as literature, disposal containers, and grocery items according to relevant documentation.

  • Equipment Transportation: Transport cabin and cleaning equipment between aircraft storage areas.

  • Equipment Operation: Operate and/or drive automated equipment including belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, pushback tugs, baggage trucks, lavatory trucks, and de-icers.

  • Vehicle Movement: Physically move push carts and containers around the ramp area.

  • Facility Navigation: Work in and around passenger terminals, hangars, and airfreight facilities, both indoors and outdoors.

  • Weather Exposure: Work in various weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind for extended periods.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete all forms and documentation related to work tasks according to established procedures and enter information into the company's data systems as required.

  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work cooperatively with all Ground Operations teams and other departments to ensure the success of the organization.

  • Communication: Maintain routine contact with individuals outside the organization, including delivery agents, contractors, and other service providers.

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Qualifications


  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required for all positions.

  • Physical Capability: Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing for extended periods, walking, bending, lifting up to 75 pounds regularly, and performing repetitive motions.

  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues across departments.

  • Composure Under Pressure: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure during high-pressure situations.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to understand instructions, follow procedures, and communicate effectively both verbally and through radio equipment.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail when handling baggage, cargo, and documentation to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.

  • Training Commitment: Must successfully complete the Ramp Agent training program with a 90% or greater average and satisfy all evaluation requirements during the training period.

  • Safety Awareness: Must be aware of hazardous situations and able to handle emergencies as they arise.

  • Time Management: Must work under tight time constraints to achieve rapid aircraft turns and meet flight schedules.

  • Equipment Awareness: Ability to be aware of moving vehicles and aircraft and operate radio equipment to communicate with team members.

  • Availability: Must be available to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous experience in aviation, logistics, or ground operations

  • Forklift certification or experience operating heavy machinery

  • Previous customer service experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in aviation or transportation

  • Ability to speak multiple languages (a plus for serving diverse customer populations)
