Position Overview
Are you a detail-oriented financial professional with a passion for numbers and a drive to contribute to meaningful healthcare outcomes? We are currently seeking a talented Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Examiner to join our dynamic Kansas Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing, planning, and reporting on critical financial areas including SG&A (Selling, General & Administrative) expenses, FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) reporting and planning, month-end close activities, and AP/check run oversight.
As an FP&A Examiner at arenaflex, you will work cross-functionally to ensure financial accuracy, provide actionable insights, and support strategic decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities
The FP&A Examiner position encompasses responsibilities in several key areas of our Kansas Finance operations. You will be responsible for:
- SG&A Reporting and Planning: Manage, plan, and report on Selling, General & Administrative expenses, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals and budget targets.
- FTE Reporting and Planning: Oversee Full-Time Equivalent reporting and planning activities, working closely with HR and department heads to maintain accurate workforce data and forecasting.
- Month-End Close Support: Participate in month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reconciliation and reporting.
- AP/Check Run Oversight: Supervise accounts payable operations and check run processes to ensure proper authorization, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively with various departments to gather financial data, understand business drivers, and provide comprehensive financial analysis.
- Financial Modeling and Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Executive Communication: Present financial findings and recommendations to Senior Management and Executive Leadership, translating complex financial data into actionable business insights.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and enhanced financial controls within the finance function.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to accounting principles, internal policies, and regulatory requirements while maintaining thorough documentation.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Years of Experience: Demonstrated experience in a bookkeeping or finance role, with a solid foundation in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Microsoft Excel Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, macros, and data visualization techniques. Strong Excel skills are essential for financial modeling and analysis.
- Accounting Fundamentals: Knowledge of sound accounting principles, which can be acquired through formal education or professional experience.
- Educational Requirements: A Bachelor's degree is required for this position. Degrees in Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics are preferred but not mandatory.
