Job Summary
The Homemaker will provide in-home support for clients who are too ill to perform household chores. In-home caregivers provide homemaker services for a range of household services necessary for the maintenance of individuals in the home setting to prevent or postpone 
institutionalization when long- or short-term illness and disability require supportive, therapeutic,or compensatory services to sustain independent living.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities 


  • Sweep, vacuum, and/or wash floor surfaces

  • Wash kitchen counters and sinks

  • Clean the bathroom

  • Store food and supplies

  • Take out garbage

  • Dust and clean up

  • Routine cleaning of oven, stove, and/or microwave

  • Clean and defrost refrigerator

  • Assist with disposal of expired food items

  • Chang bed linen

  • Promote a safe environment by removing or reporting hazardous debris or dirt

  • Meal preparation and clean up

  • Routine laundry, ironing, folding, and storing of clothes on hangers, shelves, or in drawers

  • Reasonable local shopping and errands, limited to the nearest available stores

  • Report all observed or stated patient changes to case manager

  • Prepare timely, legible, and complete documentation of all care provided and returndocumentation to office/department according to established policy

  • Document all communication with providers

  • Participate in care coordination meetings as needed

  • Recognize limitations in providing care and perform prescribed duties as allowed by law

  • Exhibit a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families,and other healthcare professionals

  • Adjust to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality

  • Maintain compliance with yearly training requirement of HIV, infection control, and HIPAA courses

  • Perform other duties as assigned
