Position Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining our enterprise data infrastructure. You'll work with massive, complex datasets that drive critical business decisions and operational strategies. This position offers the unique chance to work in a remote-first environment while contributing to meaningful initiatives that shape the future of technology at arenaflex.
You'll be responsible for creating robust data pipelines, implementing scalable infrastructure solutions, and ensuring the seamless flow of data across multiple platforms and systems. Your expertise in AWS and SQL technologies will be crucial in developing analytical tools that provide valuable insights into business performance metrics, operational efficiency, and customer acquisition strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Infrastructure Development: Design, build, and maintain large-scale data infrastructure solutions that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements. This includes creating scalable data architectures capable of handling petabytes of information efficiently.
- Process Innovation: Identify, plan, and implement process improvements including re-architecting infrastructure for greater scalability, enhancing data delivery mechanisms, and automating manual processes to improve operational efficiency.
- ETL Pipeline Construction: Build robust infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from diverse data sources using AWS cloud services and SQL technologies. Ensure data integrity and consistency across all pipelines.
- Analytical Tool Development: Develop sophisticated analytical tools that leverage the data pipeline to provide meaningful insights into key business performance metrics, including operational efficiency, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with data science, design, product, and executive teams to understand their data infrastructure needs and provide technical solutions to data-related challenges.
- Technical Leadership: Lead and provide expertise to functional project teams, participate in cross-functional initiatives, and mentor junior team members on best practices in data engineering.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and partners, providing effective solutions and insights while ensuring alignment with arenaflex's technical standards and business objectives.
- Independent Problem-Solving: Exercise independent judgment within broadly defined policies and procedures, determining the best approach for achieving work objectives while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Complex Issue Resolution: Handle complex issues requiring in-depth analysis of circumstances or information, assessing multiple factors to develop comprehensive solutions.
- Technology Innovation: Create or modify hardware and technology solutions to serve evolving business needs and customer requirements.
- Additional Duties: Perform other job-related responsibilities as directed by supervisory personnel.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services and SQL technologies, with demonstrated experience building and maintaining data pipelines at scale.
- Data Engineering Experience: Proven track record of working with large, complex datasets and designing data solutions that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities with capacity to identify complex issues, assess related information, and develop effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively across functional teams.
