We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Data Operations Analyst to join our Client Information Products Group at our Charlotte, USA location. Position Overview


The Lead Data Operations Analyst will be responsible for leading production support activities for a suite of data analysis products that support internal bank operations. This role requires a professional with a deep understanding of large-scale data lake environments who can collaborate effectively with multiple technology teams to identify, analyze, and remediate platform and data quality issues before they impact our products and services.

In addition to production support responsibilities, this position will involve leading smaller initiatives to enhance our production support capabilities, including the implementation of new monitoring tools, establishment of new operational procedures, and preparation for the launch of new products. Key Responsibilities


As a Lead Data Operations Analyst at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of critical responsibilities that directly impact our operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Your daily activities will include:


  • Lead Production Support Activities: Oversee and coordinate production support activities for a group of data analysis products used to support internal bank operations, ensuring seamless functionality and minimal disruption.

  • Incident Management: Serve as a key contributor in the identification and triage of production incidents affecting our client data analysis platform, responding swiftly to minimize impact.

  • Technical Analysis: Analyze complex technical challenges within a big data environment that require in-depth assessment and innovative solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.

  • Reporting and Communication: Lead research efforts and prepare comprehensive reports related to ongoing production issues, effectively presenting findings to internal stakeholders and leadership teams.

  • Process Enhancement: Lead the development of new operational processes and platform enhancements that improve efficiency and effectiveness across the team.

  • Cross-Team Coordination: Act as the primary contact for the inland team, ensuring clear communication and accurate reporting of delivery progress from offshore teams.

  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives, including devising new strategies and identifying new opportunities for optimization and innovation.

  • Performance Standards: Contribute to the establishment of performance standards for the team and ensure operations achieve or exceed established performance metrics.

  • Risk and Control Management: Direct the daily Risk and Control stream of operations, focusing on policies, procedures, and work standards to ensure successful outcomes; redesigning and driving continuous support improvement.

  • Team Leadership: Lead teams to meet deadlines and drive new initiatives forward while maintaining high quality standards.

  • Plan Review and Approval: Review, approve, and implement recommended changes to plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate and consult with team members to resolve initiatives and achieve technology mandates effectively.

  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor and guide to peers, sharing expertise and fostering professional development across the team.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of Analysis experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of the following: relevant work experience, training, military experience, or education.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong foundational knowledge of data analysis principles and practices.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capability to troubleshoot complex issues in high-pressure situations.

  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications


While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge in this role:


  • Big Data Environment Experience: 3+ years of experience supporting big data environments, including hands-on work with large-scale data platforms and architectures.

  • Data Engineering Background: 3+ years of experience delivering ETL, data warehouse, and data analysis capabilities on big data architecture platforms.

  • Technical Tool Proficiency: 2+ years of experience using a combination of the following tools: HIVE, Panda, Autosys, Grafana, and Splunk for data analysis, monitoring, and automation.

  • Database Technologies: Previous experience supporting Kafka and MongoDB systems, with understanding of real-time data streaming and NoSQL database concepts.

  • Financial Services Industry: Prior experience in the financial services or banking industry, with familiarity of regulatory requirements and data governance best practices.

  • Project Management: Experience leading small to medium-sized projects with demonstrated ability to manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Process Documentation: Experience establishing operational procedures and documenting technical processes.
