What You Will Do
As a Customer Service Coordinator, your primary responsibility is to interact with clients in a courteous, efficient, pleasant, and professional manner. Your daily activities will include:
- Promote and sell air journeys to the traveling public or freight forwarders, providing information about routes, schedules, fares, and special offers to help customers find the perfect flight option
- Assist with passenger check-in and load acceptance, ensuring all documentation is properly completed, luggage is appropriately tagged, and passengers are seated according to their preferences and requirements
- Interpret authority's guidelines and requirements for domestic and international journeys or shipment shipments, staying current on all travel regulations, customs requirements, and security protocols
- Meet and dispatch planes within established time frames, coordinating with ground operations teams to ensure punctual departures while maintaining safety standards
- Provide assistance to troubled passengers and customers, handling complaints with empathy and finding creative solutions to resolve issues quickly and satisfactorily
- Protect company assets and revenue by accurately processing payments, managing refunds, and ensuring all transactions are completed in compliance with company policies
- Ensure safe travel experiences by following all safety protocols and maintaining awareness of potential security concerns
- Possess the physical capability and dexterity to use motor skills to perform various job-related duties, including the ability to operate equipment and navigate physical work environments when required
- Use organizational skills to perform multiple duties within limited time periods, effectively managing your workload during peak travel periods
- Be self-motivated and require minimum supervision, taking initiative to complete tasks and seek answers to questions independently
- Respond and assist during safety and emergency situations, following established protocols and remaining calm under pressure
- Follow internal and external regulations and procedures, maintaining compliance with all FAA requirements, airport authority guidelines, and company policies
- May be required to drive and perform air stairs for various types of aircraft in order to enplane and deplane passengers, demonstrating flexibility in job functions
- Be responsible for overall performance within the work location and may be required to guide and direct the work of other employees, supporting team success
- May be required to perform Passenger Operation Control functions including air to ground communication as well as Tower capabilities
What You Will Need for Success
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school degree or GED required
- Language Skills: Read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
- Bilingual Abilities: Language abilities in addition to English are required for certain locations and customer segments
- Valid Driver's License: Applicable valid driver's license as required by local authorities
- Background Check: Must satisfy FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted admission to privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
- Security Badges: Must be capable of securing suitable airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
- Availability: Ability to work abnormal and/or prolonged hours, including weekends and holidays
- Reliability: Must report to work on a regular and timely basis
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience in travel, hospitality, or retail industries
- Knowledge of global distribution systems (GDS) such as Sabre, Amadeus, or Worldspan
- Familiarity with airport operations and aviation industry procedures
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- College coursework in communications, business, or related fields
