[Remote] Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology and Human Development - PRODiG+ Fellow

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Empire State University seeks candidates for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Psychology and Human Development through the Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG+) Fellowship program. The role involves developing and teaching online courses, mentoring students, and participating in curriculum development and academic assessment initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach online courses such as:Introduction to PsychologyAbnormal PsychologySocial PsychologyOther courses in Psychology and Human Development as aligned with departmental needs
• Mentor students throughout their degree program journey
• Participate in curriculum/program development and academic assessment initiatives
• Engage in university service activities
• Maintain an active research agenda

Skills

• Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• PhD or relevant terminal degree in Counseling/Clinical Psychology or closely related discipline from an accredited institution (completed prior to start date)
• Eligible candidates must demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Such experience may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/unpaid/community service; or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations
• Experience teaching and mentoring in online learning environments
• Background in academic program development
• Knowledge of learning assessment and contemporary pedagogical approaches
• Graduate of a CACREP-accredited program or Licensed Psychologist in New York State
