Position Overview

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and datasets that fuel our enterprise business intelligence and reporting capabilities. You will work closely with data scientists, BI engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions that enable actionable insights across arenaflex Health.

This position offers the opportunity to work on complex data challenges in a healthcare setting, including working with diverse data sources such as member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set Electronic Clinical Data System) records. You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, optimizing data workflows, and driving automation across the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of data engineering and analytics tasks designed to support our healthcare quality improvement initiatives and business intelligence objectives:

• Lead Data Delivery: Direct the delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder requirements.


• Data Infrastructure Development: Support long-term and ad-hoc data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data warehousing activities to meet arenaflex Health reporting and analytics needs.


• Pipeline Architecture: Design, develop, and deploy layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analytics projects across the enterprise.


• Data Modeling: Create data staging and preprocessing specifications for populating logical and physical data models tied to report-specific working tables for both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.


• ETL/ELT Excellence: Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal arenaflex production system sources and third-party files.


• Data Profiling & Analysis: Perform data profiling and data analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS records.


• Automation Innovation: Develop internal tools for automation of all development-related activities including data processing, QA, data validation, and deployment processes.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data scientists, BI engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver performance insights across arenaflex Health.


• Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership and present tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

To succeed in this role, you must possess a strong combination of technical expertise, hands-on experience, and leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will have:

• SQL Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts for data processing and transformation.


• Data Platform Experience: Experience designing and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.


• BI Platform Proficiency: Experience providing thought leadership and presenting tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.


• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners.


• Business Acumen: Minimum of 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.


• Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience.


• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.


• Travel Capability: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (both within state and out of state).
