Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with meaningful responsibilities that drive our data initiatives forward. Your day-to-day work will involve:
- Leading Data Delivery Initiatives: Direct the end-to-end delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights-driven projects and initiatives. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Data Infrastructure Development: Support long-term and ad-hoc data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data warehousing activities to meet arenaflex Health reporting and analysis requirements. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the organization.
- Pipeline Architecture: Plan, develop, and deploy multi-layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analysis projects. Design scalable solutions that can grow with our evolving business needs.
- Data Modeling Excellence: Create data structuring and preprocessing standards for populating logical and physical data models attached to report-specific operational tables. This includes both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.
- Integration Mastery: Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal arenaflex production system sources and third-party files. Ensure seamless data flow between disparate systems.
- Data Quality Assurance: Perform comprehensive data profiling and data analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS records.
- Automation Innovation: Develop internal tools for automating all development-related activities including data processing, quality assurance, and data validation. Streamline processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with data professionals, BI engineers, system administrators, and business users to deliver impactful insights across the arenaflex Health ecosystem.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and leadership capabilities:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field is required.
- SQL Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts. You should be comfortable working with complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
- Cloud Data Platform Experience: Experience designing and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake. Experience with at least one major cloud platform is essential.
- BI Tool Proficiency: Experience providing thought leadership and presenting tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor relationships.
- Business Acumen: Minimum of 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace. Understanding of how data drives business value is crucial.
- Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience. You should be comfortable guiding teams and influencing stakeholders.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes, both within state and out of state.
