Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Big Data Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain our enterprise data platform. In this role, you will work with massive datasets and advanced technologies to build scalable data pipelines, implement efficient data processing workflows, and ensure data quality and integrity across multiple systems. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Big Data Software Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for the following:
- Lead Complex Engineering Initiatives: Drive moderately complex engineering projects and initiatives within our technical environment, ensuring successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet business objectives.
- Architectural Planning: Contribute to large-scale planning of technical strategies and architectural decisions, considering scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Software Development Lifecycle: Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and initiatives related to our technology landscape, including system upgrades, enhancements, and new implementations.
- Technical Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve moderately complex technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
- Issue Resolution: Solve complex problems and lead a team to meet existing client needs or identify potential new client requirements while utilizing a strong understanding of our capabilities, methods, processes, and compliance requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve project goals.
- Team Leadership: Lead projects and serve as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff members.
- Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement robust ETL data streams using mappings and workflows to extract data from various sources including SQL Server, Oracle, Access, and Excel sheets using appropriate tools and technologies.
- Platform Maintenance: Maintain and optimize our big data infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of data processing systems.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of programming experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Big Data Technologies: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem and related distributed computing technologies.
- Database Expertise: 3+ years of experience with Teradata and MongoDB databases.
- Cloud Platform: 3+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform.
- Version Control: 3+ years of experience using GitHub and Bitbucket for source code management and collaboration.
- SDLC Proficiency: 3+ years of experience planning, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting applications and projects.
- Programming Languages: 3+ years of experience with Python and Unix/Shell scripting, along with familiarity of Scala, Flash, HBase, Oozie, Flume, and Kafka.
- Automation Tools: 3+ years of experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.

Compensation and Benefits
