Senior Data Engineer - Big Data Platform Development & Pipeline Architecture (Remote)
Posted 2026-05-06About arenaflex
At arenaflex, we don't just move packages—we move the world. As one of the most recognized logistics and transportation networks on the planet, we operate at the intersection of technology, innovation, and global connectivity. Our mission is to deliver possibilities, and behind that mission is a powerful engine of data that drives every decision, every route, and every customer experience. We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Dataworks team and help architect the future of our data infrastructure.
The data landscape at arenaflex is massive, complex, and incredibly exciting. We process billions of data points daily, powering everything from real-time package tracking to predictive analytics that anticipate customer needs before they arise. As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be at the forefront of building and maintaining the data pipelines that keep this global operation running smoothly. You'll work alongside talented engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to transform raw data into actionable insights that impact millions of customers worldwide.
This is a remote position, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States while collaborating with teams across our global network. If you're passionate about data engineering, cloud architecture, and solving complex problems at scale, arenaflex is the place for you.
The Role: Senior Data Engineer
We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, test, and maintain robust data pipelines at massive scale. In this role, you'll serve as a critical bridge between IT, business stakeholders, developers, and data scientists—acting as a "universal translator" who can speak the language of each team and translate complex technical requirements into elegant solutions.
You'll work on the Dataworks platform, which manages the ingestion, transformation, and pipelining of data assets for end users inside arenaflex and for data products and services that may be externally facing. Every day, you'll be deeply involved in code reviews and large-scale implementations that directly impact our operational efficiency and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Development: Design and build tools, platforms, and pipelines that enable teams to analyze data clearly and cleanly, build models, and drive data-informed decisions across the organization.
- Scalability Engineering: Scale solutions from "computer scale" to "team scale" issues, addressing both infrastructure and problem construction methodologies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner across teams to drive the generation of data-driven operational insights that deliver high-value, optimized solutions.
- Rapid Value Delivery: Deliver tangible value quickly, collaborating with diverse teams of varying backgrounds and disciplines.
- Best Practice Development: Establish best practices for future reuse, creating sustainable patterns, templates, and codebases that benefit the entire engineering organization.
- Data Pipeline Management: Update and maintain data from multiple data sources, ensuring batch processing of collected data matches the format of stored data while ensuring information is properly processed and analyzed.
- Ecosystem Optimization: Keep the data ecosystem and pipelines streamlined and efficient by investigating standard performance and data-related issues, providing Level 3 support when needed.
- Data Transformation: Implement parsers, validators, transformers, and correlators to reformat, update, and enhance data quality and usability.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to junior team members and recommend solutions for highly complex technical challenges.
- External Engagement: Connect with senior technologists from the broader enterprise and beyond arenaflex (partner ecosystems and clients) to create collaborations and ensure smooth handoffs to downstream operational systems.
