Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Revenue Accounting Analyst at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Operational Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and various business owners on policies, processes, and projects. Assist in driving key system initiatives and improvements that enhance our financial infrastructure.

Data Requirements Development: Create and design comprehensive accounting data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries. Ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes.

Process Improvement: Lead operational improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule. Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains across the accounting function.

Data Quality Management: Monitor data quality of journal entries prepared through the Revenue Subledger. Design Data Quality checks for identified use cases through accounting requirements planning, ad-hoc investigations, new product launches, and ongoing monitoring.

System Enhancement: Work with Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve our daily Revenue Reconciliation process. Manage reconciliation analysis with the support of the analysis team and review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance reviews.

Requirements Assessment: Review product roadmaps and assess impact on existing or need for new accounting requirements for the Revenue Subledger. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on journal entry flows for new or existing products for automation through the Revenue Subledger.

Monthly Close Activities: Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, review journal entries, and assist with close package expectations.

Special Projects: Handle ad-hoc investigations and projects as assigned, supporting various strategic initiatives across the organization.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to bring a combination of technical expertise, analytical prowess, and interpersonal skills. The following qualifications are required:

Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business intelligence roles.

Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 Revenue Recognition is required. Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.

Data Skills: Intermediate to advanced SQL skills with the ability to work with large volumes of complex data. Python skills are a plus.

Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing work environments and priorities.

Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both in-person and remotely.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would strengthen your application:

Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle

Background in technology or logistics industries

Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker

Knowledge of revenue recognition for multi-element arrangements

Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls

MBA or advanced degree in Accounting or Finance
