What You'll Do

As a Transportation Analytics Business Intelligence Analyst at arenaflex, your responsibilities will span multiple domains, combining technical data engineering with strategic business analysis. Here's what you can expect:

• Data Engineering and Analysis: Work with large, messy, disparate datasets and conduct ad-hoc analyses to rapidly inform essential business decisions. You will create ETLs or develop processes that pull data from multiple locations and centralize it into unified, actionable tables that stakeholders can easily interpret.


• Visual Storytelling: Develop compelling data visualizations using Tableau to display and quantify the effects of operational changes and specific business challenges. Your dashboards will serve as critical decision-making tools for leadership across the organization.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with team members and cross-functional groups on a periodic basis to establish credibility. Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with them to share relevant information. This includes collaborating with Operations, Finance, and Product teams on data accuracy, completeness, and latency across multiple systems.


• Process Automation: Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate repetitive reporting tasks, including screenshot generation, metrics prioritization, and outlier recognition. Your automation efforts will increase efficiency and free up time for higher-value analytical work.

• Data Visualization Proficiency (1-2 years): Creativity with a User Experience foundation to develop impactful Tableau Dashboards. You should understand how to present complex data in intuitive, accessible formats that drive decision-making.


• Business Operations Fluency: The ability to understand and root-cause business problems. A Supply Chain background is highly desirable, with preferred experience in transportation operations. You should be able to translate data findings into business implications.


• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with the capacity to work cross-functionally. You must be comfortable presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders and translating technical concepts into business language.

Preferred Experience

• Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau, including dashboard optimization and performance tuning


• Experience with e-commerce operations or parcel service operations, understanding the unique challenges of last-mile delivery and package management


• Proficiency with Python or other scripting languages for automation and data processing


• Experience with data manipulation tools such as Knime, Alteryx, R, or Tableau Prep
