About This Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join arenaflex as an Application Developer Lead, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering and supporting complex technology solutions while driving meaningful change across Channel Development, U.S. Licensed Stores, and our Global Licensed Stores operations.

As a Salesforce engineer at arenaflex, you will identify, design, and deploy technology and process solutions that establish key business capabilities, enabling the realization of strategic initiatives and operational enhancements across our global Salesforce organizations. Our Salesforce environment spans multiple products including Sales Cloud, B2B Commerce, Experience Cloud, and other cutting-edge solutions. This role requires strong proficiency in requirements analysis and solution design, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse technical and business teams to maximize the benefits of the Salesforce platform—with a particular focus on elevating the customer and partner experience.

In addition to delivering high-quality, well-architected Salesforce solutions, this role demands leadership through a strong customer service orientation and a continuous improvement mindset to elevate both partner (employee) and customer experiences. The ability to lead, influence, negotiate, drive solutions, and mentor less experienced developers and partners is essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design and Implementation


  • Project Initiation Support: Contribute to project commencement efforts by helping define project scope and identifying targeted solutions. Assist project management in planning, estimating, scheduling, prioritization, and resource allocation efforts.

  • Solution Design Process: Participate actively in the solution design process, including requirements gathering and iterative refinement. Contribute to functional design while leading technical design and development efforts.

  • Risk Mitigation: Mitigate risks through prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations for complex issues as appropriate. Build iteratively with a clear vision of the end state in mind.

  • Transparency: Provide transparency in approach and progress while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.

  • Programming Solutions: Develop programming solutions for business challenges using established design patterns and coding standards.

  • Quality Architecture: Build solutions that are secure, robust, flexible, scalable, and accessible while proactively mitigating production support issues.

  • Agile Delivery: Utilize agile delivery methodologies and participate in scrum teams for solution delivery projects.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation supporting planning, system configuration, deployment, and operational processes and procedures.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Demonstrate system proficiency and use subject matter expertise to perform root cause analysis and assess issue trends.

  • Vendor Collaboration: Facilitate issue resolution with vendors and cross-functional teams. Provide timely and comprehensive communication regarding status and resolutions to end-users and key stakeholders.

  • User Experience Focus: Keep overall customer technology experience in mind when designing and engaging solutions.

Platform Stewardship


  • Solution Shaping: Proactively participate in shaping upcoming solutions on the platform. This consultative aspect of the role explores the business capability portfolio to guide and influence solution decisions to ensure platform health.

  • Innovation Leadership: Assume an innovative role in the Platform Stewardship portfolio. Contribute to the vision, roadmap, and platform investments required to take our business solutions to the next level.

  • Opportunity Identification: Identify, influence, sell, and prioritize innovative platform opportunities as well as technical debt, with regular reviews, creating projects and solutions to elevate the platform offering or remediate foundational operational issues.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Achieve results with cross-functional teams, including Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, QA, and key Development teams, to strengthen and elevate the platform from a technology perspective.

  • Enterprise Process Execution: Effectively drive plans and solutions through enterprise processes and governance to ensure seamless, secure, and compliant solutions.

  • Vendor Relationship Management: Develop vendor relationships to understand and influence vendor product offerings and roadmaps, improve support engagement, and gain insights into technology trends.

  • Community Contribution: Contribute to the platform development community by providing knowledge, content, and feedback on design patterns, coding standards, and shared libraries.

Leadership


  • Project Leadership: Provide project leadership; initiate, coordinate, and support small to medium development efforts for a team of developers over a shared codebase.

  • Team Management: Manage delivery of multiple engineers in the team by establishing expectations and guiding performance.

  • Cross-Functional Representation: Represent the Development Team when engaged with cross-functional teams, including Functional Experts, Project Management, Development, Architecture, Infrastructure, and the business client.

  • Negotiation and Influence: Coordinate work with and influence others to achieve solutions and mutually beneficial outcomes in complex and ambiguous situations. Translate technical approaches and plans to project teams and related subordinate teams.

  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide other application engineers in acquiring new skills and technologies.

  • Strategic Influence: Demonstrate leadership and courage with thoughtful, articulate situations to influence critical technology solutions.

  • Drive and Delivery: Manage initiative and deliver in a fast-paced service environment, driving all issues to resolution with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, partner management, on-time delivery, and successful project execution.

Essential Qualifications


  • 4+ years of relevant IT experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Salesforce B2B Commerce

  • 4+ years of experience and understanding of the Salesforce Platform and architecture, data models, business out-of-the-box features, and capabilities
  • 3+ years of experience in an Agile and DevOps environment

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce B2B Commerce features and Salesforce Communities

  • Experience implementing large-scale business solutions focused on Salesforce Commerce solutions

  • Experience integrating Salesforce with various business systems as well as working with integration tools (ETL, NiFI, MuleSoft, etc.)

  • Development experience in Salesforce Lightning Web Components (LWC)

Preferred Qualifications


  • Salesforce certifications (Salesforce Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, B2B Commerce Developer, or Platform Developer I/II)

  • Experience with other Salesforce clouds such as Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, or Analytics Cloud

  • Knowledge of modern web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and RESTful API design

  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with global teams

  • Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
