About the Role: Flight Instructor - Captain Leadership Development
This position represents a unique opportunity for experienced airline pilots to leverage their extensive operational knowledge and leadership experience in a rewarding training environment. As a Flight Instructor with arenaflex, you will play a critical role in developing future leaders of our organization and external client airlines, ensuring they receive the highest quality instruction in leadership, decision-making, and professional development.
Our Captain Leadership Development Course (DCLC) is one of the most comprehensive and respected programs in the aviation industry. It is designed to cultivate the next generation of airline captains who will lead with excellence, make sound decisions under pressure, and maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism. As an instructor in this program, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of aviation leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Coordination: Manage and coordinate all aspects of the Captain Leadership Development Course, including scheduling, curriculum delivery, and student progress tracking. You will serve as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders and ensure seamless execution of all training activities.
- Curriculum Delivery: Deliver engaging, interactive classroom instruction covering leadership principles, decision-making frameworks, crew resource management, threat and error management, and professional development topics. You must be capable of presenting organized briefings and leading meaningful discussions that actively engage participants.
- Student Roster Management: Coordinate monthly student rosters and maintain effective communication with all program participants, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up on training requirements.
- Curriculum Development: Work collaboratively with our training development and media teams to continuously update and improve courseware, ensuring all materials reflect current industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including the Analytics team, Training Development managers, Media supervisors, and the core instructor group to ensure program objectives are consistently met.
- Logistical Management: Effectively manage classroom resources including MS PowerPoint presentations, electronic documents and manuals, whiteboards, handouts, and other training materials to support optimal learning environments.
- Feedback and Assessment: Solicit and incorporate feedback from attendees and stakeholders for continuous program improvement. Be an active listener committed to fostering an environment of open communication and continuous learning.
- Flexibility and Availability: Demonstrate willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as required, and be prepared to travel to non-Atlanta off-site training locations when needed.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Authorization: Must be at least 18 years of age with authorization to work in the United States.
- Education: Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency certification.
- Pilot Certification: Hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with Multiengine Land class rating.
- Flight Experience: Must have served as a pilot at a 14 CFR Part 121 certified air carrier and accumulated a minimum of 2,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) at a Part 121 carrier.
- Recent Experience: Candidates must apply no later than 24 months after retiring from a 14 CFR Part 121 certified air carrier (exceptions may be considered for qualified applicants).
- Technical Proficiency: Must be familiar with technology required for the position, including Apple iPad tablets, company information systems, email, scheduling platforms, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Safety Focus: Must consistently prioritize the safety and security of self, others, and sensitive information. A commitment to safety excellence is paramount in all aspects of this role.

Preferred Qualifications
