Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Marketing Expert to join our category marketing team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be directly responsible for contributing to planned sales, gross margin, and market share growth within assigned product categories. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives that drive category performance and enhance our competitive position in the marketplace.

- Drive Sales and Margin Performance: Contribute directly to sales and margin objectives within your assigned product categories. Utilize your analytical skills to identify opportunities for growth and develop strategies to maximize category performance.
- Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze relevant market data and integrate findings and recommendations into comprehensive Category Plans. This includes determining optimal SKU assortments, developing Extracare loyalty program strategies, and executing special promotional projects that resonate with our customers.
- Strategic Execution: Lead the strategic execution of everyday planogram activities, including work-off-rack plans, tracking promotional periods, and conducting present analysis to make timely corrective actions when necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams including Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Layout, Marketing, and Store Operations to ensure alignment and execution excellence across all functional areas.
- Sales and Inventory Analysis: Analyze sales records and inventory levels of current stock to identify trends, optimize inventory turnover, and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Competitive Intelligence: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape. Identify new competitive opportunities and make strategic recommendations to stay ahead of market developments.
- Market Intelligence: Stay up to date with changes in the marketplace, including emerging trends, consumer preferences, and industry developments that may impact our category strategies.
- Customer and Market Research: Research customer product preferences, supplier costs, and the competitive environment to inform category planning and pricing strategies.
