Position Overview: Senior Data Engineer

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain our event-driven data pipelines on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a full-time position based in Georgia, USA, offering a competitive hourly rate of $26 per hour. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS native event-driven services, including Amazon EventBridge, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions, along with hands-on experience in data engineering best practices such as data modeling, data quality management, and data security.

As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in building the foundation for our data infrastructure. You'll work closely with cross-functional partners to understand and define data requirements, implement robust data quality checks and monitoring systems, and optimize pipelines for performance and cost-efficiency. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining event-driven data pipelines that power our business intelligence and analytics capabilities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:


  • Architecting Event-Driven Solutions: Design, develop, and maintain event-driven data pipelines on AWS, leveraging services such as Amazon EventBridge, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, and Amazon Kinesis to process and analyze streaming data in real-time.

  • Collaborating with Stakeholders: Work closely with business partners, data scientists, and analytics teams to understand and define data requirements, ensuring that our data infrastructure meets the evolving needs of the organization.

  • Ensuring Data Quality: Implement comprehensive data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all pipelines and datasets.

  • Optimizing Performance: Continuously optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, implementing best practices in cloud resource management and cost optimization.

  • Staying Current with Technology: Stay up-to-date on the latest AWS technologies and industry trends, evaluating and recommending new tools and approaches to enhance our data infrastructure.

  • Developing Personalization Algorithms: Create and implement personalization algorithms using Python and Pydantic models to drive targeted customer experiences and business insights.

  • Managing NoSQL Databases: Build and maintain DynamoDB tables and NoSQL databases, ensuring optimal schema design, performance, and data security.

  • Processing Streaming Data: Utilize Amazon Kinesis to collect, process, and analyze streaming data at scale, enabling real-time analytics and decision-making.

  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain technical documentation, best practices, and architectural diagrams to support knowledge transfer and team collaboration.

What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
