About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior General Ledger (GL) Bookkeeper to join our accomplished Finance team. This is a fully remote position that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to meaningful financial initiatives that drive our business forward. As a Senior GL Bookkeeper at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring accurate reporting of our operational expenses.
You will report directly to our Senior Accounting Supervisor and work collaboratively with other members of our accounting team on daily bookkeeping tasks. Key Responsibilities
As an integral part of our Finance team, you will be responsible for the following core functions:
- Journal Entry Management: Plan, prepare, and post journal entries and monthly account reconciliations for specific areas of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established accounting principles.
- Month-End Close Ownership: Serve as a key owner of the monthly close cycle for both domestic and foreign entities, specifically assigned functional areas, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Financial Statement Maintenance: Ensure financial records are maintained for Management and GAAP Consolidated financial statements using accepted methodologies and best practices.
- Audit Support: Assist in providing schedules and documentation for external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively with FP&A teams, functional partners, and both internal and external parties regarding significant accounting matters and financial considerations.
- Process Improvement: Lead ad-hoc investigations and projects to further our process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for efficiency and accuracy enhancement.
- Financial Analysis: Support the team in analyzing working cost capabilities and driving process improvements that optimize financial performance.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of accounting processes, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across all financial operations.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A CPA certification is strongly preferred and considered a significant advantage.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience, with specific exposure to general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
- Technical Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), PCAOB standards, and SOX/internal controls is essential for success in this role.
- Systems Proficiency: Experience with NetSuite and Coupa is preferred. Familiarity with GSuite and other financial software platforms is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong spreadsheet skills with the ability to manipulate and process large volumes of data accurately and efficiently.
