What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our AI systems. Your work will be essential for controlling experiments, developing security frameworks that guide business decisions, driving product innovation, and preventing misuse of technology. Key Responsibilities

• Design and Build Data Pipelines: Architect, construct, and manage robust data pipelines that ensure all customer event data is consistently and efficiently integrated into our data warehouse. You will be responsible for ensuring data reliability, scalability, and performance.


• Create Analytical Datasets: Develop and maintain authoritative datasets that track key product metrics including customer growth, engagement, retention, and revenue. These datasets will inform strategic decisions across the organization.


• Collaborate Across Teams: Work cooperatively with various teams including Infrastructure, Data Science, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Research to understand their data needs and provide effective solutions. You will serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.


• Implement Robust Systems: Execute resilient and fault-tolerant systems for data ingestion and processing. You will ensure our data infrastructure can handle massive scale while maintaining high availability and performance.


• Drive Technical Decisions: Participate in data architecture and engineering decisions, bringing strong technical expertise and best practices to bear on complex challenges. You will contribute to defining data standards and coding conventions.


• Ensure Data Quality and Compliance: Maintain the security, integrity, and compliance of data according to industry standards and company policies. Implement data governance frameworks and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability.


• Model Training Support: Collaborate with research teams to prepare data for training new AI models, helping to ensure our models receive high-quality, properly formatted training data.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.


• Programming Proficiency: Strong proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in Data Engineering, such as Python, Scala, or Java. You should be comfortable writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.


• Distributed Processing Experience: Hands-on experience with distributed processing technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop, Flink, or Spark. Familiarity with distributed storage systems like HDFS, S3, or equivalent cloud storage solutions is essential.


• ETL and Data Pipeline Tools: Experience with ETL schedulers and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar frameworks. You should understand how to design and manage complex data workflows.


• SQL Expertise: Strong understanding of SQL and the ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries. You should be comfortable working with large datasets and understanding query performance optimization.


• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. You should be able to troubleshoot issues quickly and implement effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field


• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure


• Familiarity with machine learning workflows and data requirements for AI model training


• Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL best practices


• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming architectures


• Understanding of data security and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2)
