Position Overview

As a Part-Time Marketing Expert at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in driving category performance and contributing to our overall business success. You will be responsible for analyzing market data, developing strategic category plans, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute marketing programs that increase sales, improve gross margin, and expand market share within your assigned categories.

This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to our team's success from the comfort of your own home. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across multiple departments, including Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Layout, Marketing, and Store Operations. Your insights and recommendations will directly influence category strategies and drive measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities


  • Drive Sales and Margin Performance: Contribute directly to sales and margin objectives within your assigned category, working to achieve targets for revenue growth and profitability.

  • Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze relevant market data and integrate findings and recommendations into Category Plans, including optimal SKU mix, customer loyalty program initiatives, and special projects for marketing programs.

  • Strategic Execution: Lead the strategic execution of daily plan activities, such as work-off-rack plans, track promotional periods, and perform present analysis to make corrective actions when necessary.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with an internal team of arenaflex experts in Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Layout, Marketing, and Store Operations to ensure alignment and successful program execution.

  • Sales and Inventory Analysis: Analyze sales records and inventory levels of current stock to identify opportunities for optimization and inventory management improvements.

  • Competitive Analysis: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape; seek out new competitive opportunities and make strategic recommendations to stay ahead of market trends.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay up to date with changes in the marketplace, including emerging trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive dynamics that may impact category performance.

  • Research and Intelligence Gathering: Research customer product preferences, supplier costs, and the competitive environment to inform category strategies and pricing decisions.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:


  • Retail Math Expertise: Working knowledge of retail math concepts and demonstrated application in real-world scenarios. You should be comfortable with margin calculations, inventory turnover analysis, and sales forecasting.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong technical skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Access or other database applications is a plus.

  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
